Lost 2 out of 3 games in the series against Washington (who sits in 1st place). Batted .303 but pitched 5.67. Washington made great plays on defense, gunning down 2 runners from the outfield on two separate occasions. Can you believe that Carlos Beltran got hurt! WTF! Out of 1-2 Months with a torn hammy! Just like the real Mets. Dropping like flies. Our overall record is 4-5 with the Rockies coming into town next.

Just opened my season with the Dodgers coming from behind to beat the 5-3 A 2-run homer in the bottom of the 9th by M. Thames tied things up. A homer by Either in the 11th won it for me.

Started a Nationals cise and tried to build for the future. We might strugglr this year because we are so young but in a year or 2 we'll be DOMINANT.
        RP- same
SP- no more Zimmerman and now we have Arrieta
        1B- Chris Carter, Matt Stairs
        2B- Dustin Ackley
        SS- Dee Gordan
        3B- Zimmerman
        LF- Werth
        CF- Peter Bourjos
        RF- Bryce Harper
C- Traded Rodriguez, so Flores I think.
        Madden 25 - Steelers
Year 1 - 10-6 Lost in WC Round
Year 2 - 14-2 Lost in AFC Championship

Played 1 of my 2 games in Baltimore the other day. We entered the series at 37-27 in 2nd place. Lost game 1 7-1. Niemann, who entered the game 7-1, struggled in this start and dropped his record to 7-2.

Not sure if I will SIM game 2 with David Price and pitch Sunday's game 3 with James Shields or vice versa. After that though, we have a showdown with 1st place Boston and Carl Crawford's return to The Trop. Interested to see if Vasgersian and co. mention his return in the first game of the series or not.

Re: MLB 11 The Show "Franchise/Season" Progress Thread

Before I tell you about the first game I played in my fantasy Orioles chise here's my players.

            SS. Starlin Castro
            CF. Andrew McCutchen
            1B. Prince Fielder
            3B. Miguel Cabrera
            LF. Jason Heyward
            DH. Adam Dunn
            RF. Manny Ramirez
            C. Mike Napoli
            2B. Rickie Weeks

            Util. Gregor Blanco
            C. Rod Barajas
            If. Johnny Peralta
            OF. Joe Inglett

            SP. Gio Gonzalez
            SP. Ian Kennedy
            SP. Wade Davis
            SP. Jake Arrieta
            SP. Kyle Drabek

So I simmed the first game we won it 7-5 in extras against the Rays, Jorge Sosa vultered the win out of the pen.

Now onto the 2nd game which I played. Things were scoreless till the top of the 2nd, a 1 out double by Heyward followed by a 2 out RBI double by Manny put us up 1-0.

Now onto the 4th still 1-0 as Kennedy is throwing a no-no with 1 walk so far. Heyward launched his first homer of the year the opposite way of the foul pole now 2-0.

The Rays finally break up the no-no with 1 out in the 6th.

In the bottom of the 8th a leadoff double, a k, another k, and a walk spell the end for Kennedy. So I bring in my extremely young back end of the pen. My righty SU guy allows the runner on third to score now 2-1. Then he allows a 2 run single to make it 2-3 Rays, so I bring in my lefty SU man and he gets a popout to first inning over.

Now onto the 9th, Fielder leadsoff the inning with a solo shot off the right foul pole to tie it 3-3, (his 2nd of the season) Miggy follows it with a single, then Heyward smacks his second HR of the game 390 feet to right we lead 5-3, and that's how it end as Kimbrel shuts the door with 2 k's his second save in as many games.

            Notables:
Player of the game: Jason Heyward: 4-4 2 doubles, 2 HR, 3 RBI
            Fielder: HR
            Manny: RBI double
            Ian Kennedy: 7.2 inn, 8 K, 2 BB, 2.35 era, ND

Re: MLB 11 The Show "Franchise/Season" Progress Thread

Finally scored over 10 runs in a game, playing my Braves franchise:

It was game 2 vs. the Padres. I lost Game 1 in the btm of the 9th 3-2.
First of a SP Kris Medlen is really good in this game. A hard luck loser 0-2 record, 2.03 ERA, 4 QS Avg. 6IP each start.

I jumped out early, top of the 1st to a 2-0 lead. Schafer has taken over CF and is getting on and stealing bases. He is my catalyst at leadoff, batting over .300. I added another run top of the 2nd, making it 3-0.

Bttm of the 4th, the Padres got within 1R, with 2R HR by Ludwick. I came back with a 6 run top of the 5th. Medlen started the inning with a strike out. I had doubles by Schafer and McClouth. I had a solo blast over 400ft with Freeman and a 3R HR with Heyward over 400ft as well. I batted around with Medlen getting a RBI single.

The final score of the game was 10-6.

New HR champ? At the All-Star break of yr 2 of my Braves franchise, Prince Fielder, who signed as FA w/ Yanks after yr 1 and is killing it at DH, is hitting .338 50HR 97RBI.

Re: MLB 11 The Show "Franchise/Season" Progress Thread

In my first game with the Nationals Strasburg did great with 10 Ks thru 7 innings. Bryce Harper got his first RBI on a sac fly. In the top of the 8th we are up 2-0. I put Clippard in he gives up a run on a double. We intentionally walk Freeman. The bases are loaded, one out. Clippard strikes the next batter out and I put Storen in. He forces the next batter to pop out to deep right. To start the bottom of the 8th Bourjos doubles in the right center gap. Next batter Dee Gordan pops it towards the warning track in center. Somehow they get Bourjas out at 3rd. I don't know if I tagged up late or what. 2 outs. Then Zimmerman pops outto ceneter. If Bourjas was safe on third he would've tagged up and scored on Zimmerman's pop fly , instead Hinske pinch hits to start the 9th inning. First pitch, solo shot to right center. 2-2. I'm kicking my self for that double play. Next 3 are out. Harper leads of the bottom of the 9th. First two pitches, strikes. Then he fouls off a few. Next pitch he cranks one just over the center field wall!!! He hit a walk off home run in his first MLB game!!!!

I'm currently in the NLCS up 3 games to 2 vs. the Cardinals with the Phillies. I finished 92-70 and won the wildcard. The Braves ran away with the division but lost in the NLDS (obviously). I beat the Giants in a rematch of the 2010 NLCS in 5 games. The Yankees won the wild card in the AL and have SWEPT the Whitesox in the ALDS and Red Sox in the ALCS on their way to the World Series. Hoping for a rematch of the 2009 World Series if I don't choke. I got Oswalt going for Game 6 and then Halladay waiting if there happens to be a game 7.

                        My season stats:
(My pitchers were up and down all season)
                        Halladay - 15-9 ~3.50 ERA
                        C. Lee - 11-11 ~4.50 ERA
Oswalt - 13-9 ~3.00 ERA (Lead team in Ks)
                        Hamels - 15-7 ~2.50 ERA
                        Madson - 2.00 ERA 40+ saves (made all-star team)

                        (all are approixmates)
                        R. Howards 37 HRs 130 RBIs (tied for lead in RBIs with NL MVP Prince Fielder)
                        Ibanez - 27 HRs 94 RBIs
                        Francisco - 20 HRs 66 RBIs
                        Rollins - 20 HRs 75 RBIs
Utley was hurt for the majority of the season but ended up with like 12 HRs 40+ RBIs...

Now end of August, he is .331 61HR 139RBI.

The closest in HR is at 45 and in RBI is 102.

                            @ Bucco Franchise users.

Anyone abnormally DOMINANT with Garrett Jones, for me it might be a bit early and far fetched, but a possible single season homerun record breaker? He has 20 on May 24th...he's had like 5 HR in 4 games, batting .342, 40 RBIs. Possible triple crown, he'll probably have to knock in a few more runs, kind of low for the amount of homers he has hit.

James McDonald? 7-1 for me, ALWAYS has a good outing, May 24th, possible 20 game winner? Cy Young?

Not trying to make myself look good, but to even it out I'll post some disappointing stats

Paul Mahalom - 0-5, released him
McCutchen - was batting under.200 for the longest time but as of late he has brought it up to .237.

Jones isnt dominant for me although he's pretty productive...... batting .300/15 hr's/36 rbi's...as far as mcdonald goes, he's been my best pitcher...
