FINALLY! FINALLY! I've beaten the RedSox in my franchise mode, I went 0 for 10 against them, but heading into a 4 game set at Fenway, I was not hitting all that well but the pitching has been solid enough to keep me in the game. The Sox are 10 games behind me going into game 1 of the series, however, they've always been a tough team to beat.
Game 1 of the series: CC Sabathia vs. Josh Beckett
I got off to an early 1-0 on a solo home run by Mark Teixeira. After that, it was one of the most tense pitching duel i've played in awhile. Literally CC and Josh traded retiring 10 straight batters. Every time I get a hit with less than one out, the next batter would ground into your prototypical two hopper double play. All night I was kept off balance by Beckett's Curveball and big fastball, but after a lead off single in the 7th, Beckett was pulled trailing 1-0, I knew then it was my chance to get some nice insurance runs. However, Posada was caught looking at a questionable strike 3 called to end the 7th. In the 8th, the first two batters Gardner and Granderson each hit into lazy flyouts, then I get to singles from Derek Jeter and Mark Teixeira to set the stage for a two on, two out situation for A-Rod, the team MVP.
The at-bat of the night: Jenks misses with two fastballs that are way out of the zone, Usually in great hitters counts like 2-0 i'm gearing the power swing ready to swing for the fences. The 2-0 pitch is a fastball inside that overpowers A-Rod. However, the 2-1 pitch was one fastball two many and A-Rod made Jenks pay hitting a 425ft shot over the green monster and out of the park in left center field. Turning a 1-0 lead into a 4-0 lead.
With CC only at 82 pitches to start the RedSox 8th, I let him go the distance to earn the complete game win. Adrian Gonzalez homered in the bottom of the 9th on a 2 out, 2 strike changeup from Sabathia to foil the shutout, However, it was my best game pitched against the RedSox in the 2011 season.
I just wish the Real Yankees could beat the RedSox as well.

im the angels we r doing better than i expected execpt the 1st sieres vs Kansas City we went 1-3 to them :/ but our pitching staff has been great. everyone (i think has a win except pinero) i traded morales because i couldnt hit with him. i got my all time fav Jim Thome. i also got Dallas Braden somehow. and i picked up Benjie Molina (cant hit ****). so im thinking of trading him. any ideas who to try for at Catcher?
