He has 20 on May 24th...he's had like 5 HR in 4 games, batting .342, 40 RBIs. Possible triple crown, he'll probably have to knock in a few more runs, kind of low for the amount of homers he has hit.

James McDonald? 7-1 for me, ALWAYS has a good outing, May 24th, possible 20 game winner? Cy Young?

Not trying to make myself look good, but to even it out I'll post some disappointing stats

Paul Mahalom - 0-5, released him
McCutchen - was batting under.200 for the longest time but as of late he has brought it up to .237.
I just got back into my Pirates chise... mind you I pitch with 1 pitcher per turn through rotation with the exception of special days, I am currently at the end of April prepping to go up against the Rockies (April 29th-May 1st)

Garrett Jones - OVERALL .225 5 HR 12 RBI / GAMES PLAYED (4 for 18) .222
James McDonald - OVERALL 1-1 3.86 ERA 30 Ks
Paul Maholm - OVERALL 3-1 1.83 ERA 20 Ks
Andrew McCutchen - OVERALL .289 / GAMES PLAYED .280 (7 for 25)

My best hitter OVERALL is Lyle Overbay .308 3 HR 12 RBI
My best pitcher OVERALL is Maholm
My best hitter GAMES PLAYED is Overbay .409 (9 for 22) HR RBI
My best pitcher GAMES PLAYED is Kevin Correia 2-0 16 K 0.00 17.0 IP

I've pitched one game each with Maholm and McDonald
Maholm 0-1 3 K 3 ER 7.2 IP
McDonald 1-0 12 K 1 ER 9.0 IP

Re: MLB 11 The Show "Franchise/Season" Progress Thread

I just played the most craziest, weirdest, yet awesome game I've played of The Show yet and I feel the need to share.

It's been almost 2 months since I've actually played a regular game (been logging a ton of hours into my RTTS player), but tonight I decided I'd go back to that, so I loaded up my Jays franchise which was just starting an April series vs the Rays.

The pitching matchup for this game was Jesse Litsch against David Price. Going into the 7th inning the Rays were up 2-0 thanks to a Dan Johnson HR and David Price had held me to just a single (side note: this was my first game using an edited camera after seeing the offset cam thread here). But once that 7th inning hit, something clicked and Escobar got on base with a single. Then Jose Bautista crushed a slider to tie the game up. Right after that, Adam Lind got on base with a single as well and Aaron Hill repeated what had just happened and homered, suddenly putting us up 4-2 and getting Price yanked (side note #2: earlier in the game there was an overlay showing Price was 0-3 in the month and the commentators talked about how he was struggling up until this game so his pain continues, lol).

Fast forward to the top of the 9th with the Jays still up 4-2. I send Frank Francisco out to close but he walks Longoria. 2 outs later Reid Brignac doubles off the CF wall and Longoria scores from 1B, just avoiding the tag by inches. I pull Francisco and put in Jesse Carlson, but of course this backfires in my face as well and BJ Upton cashes in their pinch runner Jennings to tie the game with 2 outs. Things get worse when, with Upton on 2B, Rodriquez comes up with a liner to RF. Upton goes for home, but thank Baby Jesus that the ball went to Bautista because he guns Upton out and the game stays tied. I don't generate any offense in the 9th, so we go to extras.

Fast forward one last time to the 11th with the game still tied at 4 and this is where things get crazy. I have Jon Rauch on the mound with 2 outs, but Dan Johnson gets on 1B. Things fall apart because BJ Upton steps up with a big HR to put the Rays up 6-4. I end up escaping the 11th with the score the same, but at this point I'm not too sure of my chances. Aside from that 7th inning, my offense has been non-existent and I've barely been able to get guys on base. With Bautista coming up second, I try to bunt to get Escobar on base for the tying run but it doesn't work. Bautista then flies out so I'm in the bottom of the 11th with 2 out and down 2 runs. I say to myself it's over, but then Adam Lind homers just over the LF wall. I don't think much of my chances even after that, but I realize I still have a slight chance to at least tie the game. So up comes Aaron Hill and what do you know, he homers to the first row in left to tie the game. I'm thinking this is pretty awesome as Joel Peralta is coming in to replace Kyle Farnsworth and Juan Rivera is stepping up to the plate. I swing and miss terribly at a low curveball and start preparing myself for the 12th inning when all of the sudden a slider hangs up nice and high, Rivera makes contact and it gets over the wall just inside the RF foul pole for the walk-off HR.

So after being down 2 runs with 2 outs in the bottom of the 11th, I magically popped off back-to-back-to-back solo HRs. And no, I'm not playing on Rookie.

My patience is really wearing thin with Wilson Betemit in my Royals franchise. I just can't hit with him to save my life. After last night's game, he went under the .200 mark. I have him in at 3rd because I was needing his bat in the lineup but it's not working out. Aviles is on 2nd right now and Getz is really best suited for a bench role.

I like to try and remain somewhat realistic in my franchise so I'm trying to hold off on any type of trade for the time being. I also don't want to bring Moustakas or Hosmer up until I feel like they deserve it and both of them are struggling in AAA right now.

I don't know if I'm looking for advice or anything like that, I just needed to vent. I like Betemit IRL so it's hard for me to think about trading him on the game. Granted, we will probably trade him for real before the deadline. Ahhh, the curse of using your favorite team.

The wheels are beginning to come off for the Rays. Right now we are 39-35, but, we are really struggling to hit right now. I don't know what it is, but, the last two games, I have K'd a combined 27 times! Prior to this, I was used to getting rung up about 4-6 times a game. All of a sudden in the last two games Ricky Nolasco and Chris Narveson are unhittable and my batters can do nothing right against them.

We sit 5.0 GB of the Red Sox in the AL East and 2.0 GB of the Yankees in the WC race.

I have been getting by with my pitching during this very difficult scoring drought, but, if I want to keep pace with the Sox and Yankees - I need an infusion of offense.

Upton is in a walk year and I'm looking at possible deals for him now and I am considering making a run at Brandon Phillips, as a rental, for the stretch run. I need some more offense and I think he could be a boon to the lineup.

Going back to play game two against Milwaukee. Lost the last game 3-0. I need an offensive explosion baseball gods...

Beat the Nasty Nats 17-2, and then I proceed to accidentally simmed ahead two days, simming a game.(I always play every game) Stats from that 17-2 game

Does anyone check boxscores on other games throughout the season?

I'm messing around simming a franchise with the Astros to see if I want to use them and out of curiosity I decided to check some boxscores and low and behold Rickey Romero of the Blue Jays no hit the Mariners on April 12, 2011, and 2 walks kept it from being a perfect game... opposing pitcher was Felix Hernandez and the Jays beat the M's 2-0 in Seattle.

There were quite a few nice pitching performances as I looked through the boxscores.

I think I'm going to give it my best effort to include newsworthy games like this in this Astros franchise while I try to bring back the fond memories the Killers B's (Bagwell and Biggio) brought to Houstonians.

Re: MLB 11 The Show "Franchise/Season" Progress Thread

After playing way too much RTTS, I decided to continue my franchise again today.

Of course I lost game 1 to the Braves 10-2.

So the second game was pretty much a great game and tied 2-2 in the top of the 9th. I got solo HR's from Ryan Zimmerman and Jerry Hairston. However I brought in Drew Storen to keep the game tied, and he gave up a lead off homer to Jayson Heyward, then proceeeded to retire the next 3. I didn't score and lost 3-2.

The next game was crazy. The pitching matchup was Jason Marquis vs Tommy Hanson.

I got down 3-0 by the 2nd inning and was really starting to get worried about getting swept.

However in the 6th I started to wear down Tommy Hanson and was able to get 2 runs on the board. Thankfully Marquis settled down and gave me 6 IP, 3 ER, and 7 Ks. Not bad.

In the 7th I was down 3-2, and decided to pinch hit Matt Stairs when the relievers spot came up. I told myself I WAS NOT swinging unless I was completely locked in on the pitch (both location and pitch guessed correct). The 3rd pitch in the AB I happened to guess both right, and timed it perfectly and hit a game tying homer with the 43 year old.

In the 8th somehow Jerry Hairston hit a go-ahead homer and that was his 2nd in the series. Drew Storen came in to close the door, and I finally got in the W column with a 4-3 win. It was a great series, but I'm glad to see the Braves go haha.
