Re: MLB 11 The Show "Franchise/Season" Progress Thread
Now the White Sox? I know them and their players. Plus I can talk like Sox annoucer Ken "Hawk" Harrelson and say things like "Stretch", "Mercy", "Yes!!!!!", "Dont stop now boys", "He gone", "Grab some bench" & the infamous "You can put it on the bbbboooooaaarrrdddd,YES!". I mimic all those phrases in my games.Comment

Re: MLB 11 The Show "Franchise/Season" Progress Thread
No problem man, I need a vested interest in a team to endure a 162 game season. I know nothing about Pirates baseball, it would get stale for me afterwhile for that reason.

Re: MLB 11 The Show "Franchise/Season" Progress Thread
So I thought it would be pretty neat to show a comparison between my Phillies franchise stats and the real life stats for the Phillies. I play every game of my franchise to match up with the real season, and the Phillies, as of June 12, are 42-25. 1st place in the NL East and 5.5 games ahead of the 2nd place Braves. The Marlins, Mets, and Nationals are all double digit games behind the top two. So anyway, let's see how the stats compare for the current 25-man roster as of yesterday June 12.

This was my first time seeing these comparisons, and I was shocked to see that Jimmy Rollins is pretty much identical to real life! Chase Utley, Domonic Brown, Shane Victorino, and Carlos Ruiz are pretty close to identical as well. Roy Halladay and Cliff Lee are very close too!
Anyway, just thought this would be something new to share. If you have any thoughts, just let me know!
*Surprising note* The Pirates are actually 10 games over .500 in my franchise at 39-29. They are in 3rd place in the NL Central and 6 games back of the 1st place Reds who are 45-23, and they are a half game back of the Wild Card lead. lol.Last edited by PhilliesFan13; 06-13-2011, 11:47 PM.Comment

Re: MLB 11 The Show "Franchise/Season" Progress Thread
I know this is a very common question here, but...
what is a good NL team to start a franchise with (maybe besides the Pirates this time)? I'm having little success with my Mariners franchise so I want to take a different route and some new scenery. Suggestions?Kemp for NL MVP
Montero for AL ROY

Re: MLB 11 The Show "Franchise/Season" Progress Thread
32-24 with the White Sox, tied with the Tigers for the first place. KC is sitting 1 game behind us.
Our pitching staff had bounced back during the last 6 games allowing only 11 runs whereas he had allowed more than 60 runs on the previous 10 games.
So I have a 3.71 ERA as a team.
My avg is correct .256
Dunn already had 20 dingers and Konerko 13.
Dunn is playing like the real Dunn must play.
On his last 30 PA, I hit 5 homeruns, drew 8 walks, hit 2 SF and stroke out the rest of the PA... No single, double or even triple. Classic Dunn !
I've called up top prospect Dayan Viciedo (replacing a deceving A. Rios .186 avg... 3 HR 8 RBI in 56 games...). He is absolutely racking up.
In 5 games he had started, he hit .391 (9 on 23 AB) with 3 HR and 6 RBI (almost the amount of Rios :/)
Starting SS A. Ramirez is injured again for 2 monthes. He already had been injured for 1 month and now 2 more monthes... I've called up B. Lillibridge.
I've made a minor trade sending L. Milledge to the Mets for SP Rodrigo Lopez who is my LRP now. (I've pitched very well with him last year)
2 games remains in Boston before our off day.Comment

Very tempting to do the D-backs because of their power, but I'm not sure about the pitching. As for the Marlins if I were to do them I would play all their home games in a spring training park- Sun Life isn't the place for me.
Washington Nationals- Could be an easy choice with Strasburg, Storen, Harper, Ramos, Morse and company with a bright future, definitely an option.
Colorado Rockies- Ubaldo Jimenez, CarGo, Tulo, but I'm not sure how it will play out in the next few seasons.
Going to test these teams out once I get back to a PS3, thanks for the input everyone!Kemp for NL MVP

The Nationals would definitely be a fun team to do a franchise with. I play every game though so the building for the future thing kind of doesn't work out, because I don't get through enough season. I like the Nats roster as it is though.
