Why would the Argos have to pack their bags? I don't understand that. Are they worried the Argos would tear up the grass?

Just get rid of basically everyone. Pitching coach, hitting coach, trainers, as much as we can.

Bonifacio....since leaving the Jays he's hitting .318! 8 walks and 8 stolen bases in 13 games!

Something is seriously up with the Jays.

And for people saying Morneau would be great on Jays...if he is, then what happens to Lind? I'd hope we could trade Lind for a starting C or 2B?

Small sample size but that is crazy, especially the eight stolen bases.

I think that's the case plus putting in grass which would have to be done in the offseason will require a ton of construction work which can't be done if the Argos are still playing their season. Apparently, they need to dig further into the ground to install a drainage system and such. It isn't as simple as getting rid of the turf and growing grass on the surface.

BTW Me thinks the Jays have stumbled upon their 2B I really like what i'm seeing out of Goins. I'd like to see how he gets himself out of a slump though so I'm not quite ready to crown him as the 2B for the present and future but if he shows progress throughout September than I think he has a legit shot at the job.

As badly as Jays have sucked lately(years wise)....One crazy thing to realize....Last time Jays had a below .500 season against non AL East teams..2005!

So that means(including this year) the past 8 seasons the Jays have done great against non AL East teams. We really need to do something about this. Do other teams have some special scouting system on the Jays? Is there something the Jays have been doing all these years that AL East teams are easily able to play against or what?

Okay guys, do we trade Bautista in the offseason?

His body is starting to break down and you might as well get the most you can out of him in the trade market while his value is still relatively high. Unfortunately the peons that call up the FAN would misinterpret this move badly.

              What say you?

BTW i'm seeing some positive signs heading into 2014. The adjustments Lawrie made in his stance is paying off, Ryan Goins looks like a major leaguer and RA Dickey is looking more like his 2012 self now after making adjustments especially pitching at home.

Depends on what we can get from Bautista.

I seriously hope Goins isn't our starting 2nd basemen next year, we really can't have more replacement level production. Hopefully Melky will improve after surgery.

I'll take replacement level offense if it means the kind of defense he's giving the Jays at 2B. I don't know why you're so down on the guy. Yes, he's hitting way above his expected range right now but you can't just say "la de dah he's no good". If he's the 2B next season and reverts to what he's been like at the minors than he'll be what Maicer Izturis was SUPPOSED to be this season.

                  I'll take it.

He's a really bad offensive player though. His current stats are unsustainable and that's saying something, cause they're not that impressive as is. It remains to be seen if his defense is good enough to outweigh that and I don't think it is. he's a perfect 25th man but him starting would be unacceptable.

Jhonny Peralta, Omar Infante, Howie Kendrick are all some names that could be out there.

Well if they can get Kendrick than yeah Goins would be a good bench guy so I won't begrudge the Jays for doing that.

                      I guess time will tell.

Just a mini thing but cool to see. Reyes interacting with random people walking around Rogers Centre on his offday. Something you normally won't see from players of a team. Nice to see he's happy here. Which is why makes me hate how the 2013 season ended up. Cause we have a team filled with guys who want to not just wanted to be on the team, but they had no problem with the city either.

Reyes seems like a real cool cat so i'm not surprised by that. I'm sure if the dog situation wasn't such a big thing that Buehrle would be even more on board with being on the team. He sure is pitching like a man possessed these days.

I also saw a thing where Dickey was talking to school age children about his experiences with the abuse he endured as a kid. He's a very intelligent and self aware person IMO.

^Dickey and Reyes are some of the most excited people about the city that I've seen. In NBA, Toronto filled with guys who don't really want to be here. In NHL, guys either love it cause it's center of hockey world, or hate it cause things are too big.

But in MLB, guys usually just seen neutral about the city, so nice change of things to see guys like Dickey/Reyes love the city, especially at this point in the season when the team has done horrible.

Looks like grass is on the way. Athough still a long way off.

It wouldn't surprise me if there's a lot of free agents in the past who have cited the turf as one reason for not wanting to play in Toronto.

Sounds like there will be some interesting challenges growing grass.
