Nice string of wins from the Mountaineers, going to need all that momentum against Georgia Tech. Surprised so many ACC teams made it to the Sweet 16My Dynasties

Good luck in the elite 8! It looks like you may need it with GT being a 95 ovr. Not sure if I've ever seen a team that high ratings wise.“If you’re true to yourself, you’re going to be true to everyone else.”Comment

Re: Coaching Legacy of James Frizzell (CH 2K8)
It will be tough. I think the Texas Tech team I knocked off in my National Title run a few years ago was a 94 OVR or so, but that's probably the best team I've ever beaten in this legacy (or otherwise).Comment

#7 West Virginia (25-11) vs. #1 Georgia Tech (30-6)
Time Warner Cable Arena
Charlotte, NC
March 26th, 2023
Osei Forney's career-high 39 points, 15 rebounds, three steals, and two blocks was not enough this evening as the #1-seeded Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (30-6) defeated the #7-seeded West Virginia Mountaineers (25-11) in this year's Eastern Regional Final 111-100 in double-overtime.
"It's a tough one to lose," stated a depressed Coach Frizzell after his team's 11-point defeat in double-overtime. "We played hard against what most considered to be the best team in the country. We led the majority of the game in regulation, but we let it slip away in the final minutes and let it go to overtime.
"We played well in the first overtime period, but we just got smashed in second overtime. I think we just ran out of energy and let our season slip away and into the abyss.
"Whatever the case, making the Elite Eight as a #7 seed is nothing to sneeze at, so we'll take this setback and move on to next year."
Bobby Christian led Georgia Tech with 34 points off of 12-for-22 shooting. His 34 points was also a career-high for the 6'7" junior. Dyron Adkins neared a triple-double with 19 points, eight rebounds, 10 assists, and three steals while Andrew Byfield came off the bench to add 20 points and four assists.
In addition to Forney's performance, Allan Pena added 17 points and three assists, despite a poor shooting performance. In the final game of his career, Pena only hit three of his 14 shot attempts, but did hit all 10 of his attempts from the free throw line. Meanwhile, Barry George added 11 points and three steals, but turned the ball over seven times.
Georgia Tech will move on to face #2-seeded Pittsburgh in the Final Four next Saturday. For the Mountaineers, their season is over and they will watch the Final Four from their couches in front of the television screen.

Re: Coaching Legacy of James Frizzell (CH 2K8)
Ouch...tough loss in 2OT no less. GT is probably winning the title this year, they seem stacked. Kinda like Texas last season (if I'm remembering that correctly.) Hell of a run though, considering you were a 7 seed and all. Best of luck next year
EDIT: Right on cue, GT wins it all lol. And my post is after it, so I look like a moron :wink:Check out my Houston Astros Dynasties:

Re: Coaching Legacy of James Frizzell (CH 2K8)
I'd call the year a success though. Looks like no one was going to stop GT. Shame that you were ahead of them for a lot of the game, but there's always a difference between being ahead and being in control. Looks like the Yellow Jackets are one of those teams that can explode in a hurry.
Hopefully the recruiting trail brings in some more good blood to keep your team's run going strong.Comment
