Well, I actually already started it and played a few games just to see if it's something I really want to do before I started a thread. I think I want to continue it, so I will post it today/tonight, probably.

I actually have a few games I need to post for this legacy, as well.

No restart! Just a second one to go along with this one.

Alright, the other legacy has been created, for those interested: http://www.operationsports.com/forum...wo-ch-2k8.html

As I have said, this one will continue, as well, though.

        NIT Season Tip-Off A Final

No. 2 West Virginia (2-0) defeated the Fordham Rams 93-60 this evening to advance to the main stage of the 2030 NIT Season Tip-Off, which will be played next week at Madison Square Garden in New York, NY.

West Virginia got off to another fast start and nailed the coffin shut early for the Rams (1-1). Fordham was down by 25 points at halftime and never got within 20 points for the remainder of the game.

Fred Joiner had another great game at point guard for West Virginia. He scored at least 20 points for the second game in two tries this season and ended with 21 points, seven assists, and five steals (career-high). Predrag Gabler hit three threes to end with 11 points and five rebounds while O.J. Palmer ended with 13 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and a pair of blocks.

6'1" freshman guard Monwell Weaver also had a great game as he hit four threes and scored 16 points. Weaver is 6/9 (67%) from three-point range this season and has shown that his reputation as a sharpshooter was not off the mark.

Attarrius Dilligard was Fordham's leading scorer as he totaled 21 points, five rebounds, and two blocks. However, he also gave the basketball away seven times via turnovers.

Next, West Virginia has a week off before playing in the NIT Season Tip-Off Semifinal Round next Wednesday on November 20th.

Very happy to see this is still going! Can't be said enough, congrats on the longevity of this dynasty, my friend.

If only 2K hadn't shut down the servers, we could've had a fun career legacy with me, you, vandyredskins, and waytofailself when we were all sharing the file. Sigh. Oh well, keep it up!

Yeah, I know, we had just started that legacy when they decided to shut down the servers. It was not shock or anything since they had already kept them going years past the cancellation of the franchise, but it was still unfortunate.

                  NIT Season Tip-Off Semifinals

No. 2 West Virginia (3-0) won its third blowout in as many games as they drowned Utah (3-2) this evening 75-45.

It was the second time in three games that WVU held their opponent under 50 points. Utah is the toughest team the Mountaineers have played yet this season, but it certainly didn't seem like it as they held a decisive advantage from the start and never really let Utah in the game. The Utes made a run in the second half to pull back within 15 points, but as the Mountaineers usually do, they blew it open late.

Utah only shot 18/55 (33%) from the floor and were outrebounded by West Virginia 34-21. In addition, West Virginia only committed seven personal fouls all game and only allowed the Utes to make it to the free throw stripe five times, where they only converted two of them. In comparison, West Virginia shot 16/18 (89%) from the charity stripe.

O.J. Palmer led all scorers as he tallied 14 points and six rebounds for West Virginia. Fred Joiner scored 11 points and dished out three assists while Predrag Gabler hit a couple threes and ended with 11 points and five rebounds. Ethan Augustin had his first double-digit scoring game of the year as he tallied 10 points and six rebounds while freshman Willie Gomes recorded career-highs in points, rebounds, steals, and blocks as he totaled 12 points, eight rebounds, five steals, and four blocks.

Jesse Ferris scored 13 points to lead the Utes while Todd Irvin scored 11 points.

Next up for West Virginia is Notre Dame in the NIT Season Tip-Off Finals as the Mountaineers will get a chance to go up against their Big East brethren for the non-conference tournament title at Madison Square Garden.

No. 2 West Virginia blew out their fourth opponent in four games this season as the Mountaineers defeated fellow conference mate Notre Dame 83-51 to win the 2030 NIT Season Tip-Off. Notre Dame came into this game undefeated with a 4-0 mark on the season, but the Mountaineers left little doubt who was the better team.

The Mountaineers (4-0) fell behind early as Notre Dame (4-1) jumped out to a quick lead. West Virginia eventually used an 8-0 run to take a 22-18 lead over the Fighting Irish and extended their lead to 31-22 by the end of the first half. West Virginia extended their lead early in the second half and though Notre Dame pulled back to within 15 points midway through the second period, they never got closer, and West Virginia ignited offensively late in the second half to score 50 points in the final period to win by 28 points.

Fred Joiner was a big reason why as he scored 20+ points for the third time this season, tallying 24 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and five steals. He hit five three-pointers and shot 9/12 from the field overall. Myron DeLeon also played surprisingly well as he came out of his shooting funk (he had made just 1/12 from three-point range this season coming into this game) as he shot 3/4 from three-point range and scored 16 points on just four shots and grabbed three rebounds. O.J. Palmer added 12 points, five rebounds, and three assists while Willie Gomes came off the bench to total 11 points and three boards.

Senior guard Jordan Porter led Notre Dame in scoring with 13 points while fellow senior J.S. Bland added 10 points and four assists.

The Mountaineers did struggle with turnovers tonight, as they committed 17.

Next up for West Virginia is a date with No. 16 Michigan in Morgantown on Saturday afternoon.

Everything is going well. I finally played a game for the first time in a few months the other day, so I decided to post an update. I am not sure if I can go undefeated for you, but we'll see!

This is a very good team this year, but I have a tendency to run into one or two unwinnable games per year, it seems, where everything goes wrong. I'm sure it'll happen this season at some point.

No. 2 West Virginia (5-0) outlasted No. 16 Michigan (2-1) this afternoon 68-59 to keep their undefeated season alive. Both teams came in with an unblemished mark, but only one could leave with that streak still alive.

Michigan gave the Mountaineers a run for the money, though. The Wolverines led for the majority of the first half and it wasn't until a Willie Gomes personal 8-0 run gave the Mountaineers their first lead of the game with 2:34 remaining in the first half.

The Wolverines would battle back again to take the lead back with 12 minutes remaining in the second half, but Gomes once again hit a shot to tie it and Joiner hit a hook shot to give the Mountaineers a 54-49 lead a couple minutes later. The Wolverines would never get closer as West Virginia would lead by as many as 14 points before winning by nine.

West Virginia struggled mightily shooting the basketball this afternoon. The Mountaineers missed their first 18 shots from three-point range and only finished 1/22 for the game. Myron DeLeon's three-pointer with 5:16 remaining to give the Mountaineers a 63-51 lead was the Mountaineers' only make of the day. Overall, the Mountaineers were not much better as they only shot 23/73 (32%).

The Mountaineers made up for it on the glass, however, as they outrebounded Michigan 46-31 and hauled down 21 offensive rebounds. They also were successful at the free throw line and got their often, as they went 21/26 (81%) from the line.

Freshman Willie Gomes was the unlikely hero for West Virginia as he recorded career-highs in points, rebounds, and minutes played. The 7'1" freshman scored 19 points and grabbed 15 rebounds to go along with a pair of blocks. He was especially lethal on the offensive glass and put back a couple missed threes with thunderous dunks. His strong play was rewarded with 31 minutes of time out on the floor as he made a real case for a starting spot in place of Ethan Augustin.

Fred Joiner distributed the basketball well and hooked up with Gomes a few times as he totaled 14 points and seven assists. O.J. Palmer was a bit limited by foul trouble, but ended with 13 points, nine rebounds, four steals, and two blocks.

Houston Diaz scored a game-high 23 points and tallied three rebounds and three assists to lead the Wolverines. Senior Demetric Cripe also added 12 points, six boards, and three steals.

West Virginia now has 10 days off before taking on No. 12 Brigham Young on December 4th. The Cougars are currently 3-0.
