Congrats on the #1 seed, looks like it'll be a good bracket as well. Amazed to see Virginia Tech as a 2 seed and not somewhere on the bubble, but that'd be a nice Elite 8 matchup

Thanks! Hopefully, we can do something with it.

Virginia Tech has a really good team this year. They may traditionally be mediocre, but Seth Greenberg actually has a really good team this year. It will be an interesting matchup if we both make it that far.

It's a matchup of titans, for sure. Truthfully, it's a game where the two teams play for the privilege of being pulverized by my WVU team.

                (I hope I didn't spoil too much)

                  March 20th, 2026

The #1 overall seed in the 2026 NCAA Tournament, the West Virginia Mountaineers (32-2), easily cruised to a win over 16th-seeded Quinnipiac 72-48 this afternoon. The Bobcats (14-19) defeated UNC Asheville 67-57 on Tuesday to earn their way into the round of 64, but they were ultimately no match for WVU.

The Mountaineers used the opportunity to give almost everyone on the active roster playing time. Len Shields led the way for the Mountaineers with 18 points and seven rebounds. Jud Helms came off the bench to add 11 points and four boards. Four players from off the bench scored at least five points as the Mountaineers' offense presented a balanced attack.

Nevertheless, it wasn't WVU's sharpest game shooting the basketball as they only shot 43% from the field. The Mountaineers also only made it to the free throw line eight times.

The Bobcats were led by Haruna Lemons, who was the only double-digit scorer for Quinnipiac with 19 points.

West Virginia will face Memphis on Saturday for a spot in the Sweet Sixteen. The eighth-seeded Tigers defeated #9 Florida 91-83 in the opening round of the Big Dance.

Top-seeded West Virginia (33-2) won its 33rd game of the season this evening as the Mountaineers blasted eighth-seeded Memphis (23-7) 88-65 to advance to the Sweet Sixteen, where they will face #5-seeded Georgia Tech in Charlotte, NC.

West Virginia controlled this one from start to finish. The Mountaineers led 46-32 at halftime and held a comfortable lead throughout the second half.

D.C. Montgomery recovered from a tough outing against Quinnipiac to record 19 points, five rebounds, and four steals tonight. Tre Welch just missed out on a double-double with 17 points and nine rebounds while Anderson Black had a great all-around game, as he tallied 13 points, seven rebounds, five assists, and four steals. Surprised at the lack of upsets. Only in a video game can we see #16 seeds pulling off upsets over #1, but in all my years of playing it seems like I see at least 1 every year in my tourney. Then again I think a #14 was the highest seed to win this year.

Congrats on your win over Memphis, however looks like Glory Road is going to be a tough road to travel the rest of the way out.

Your Memphis game reminds me of my elite right matchup against Florida (with Austin Peay) It was a 1 seed vs 2 seed(me being the 1 seed) I blasted them 90-68 and went on to play Creighton who upset Louisville in their elite eight matchup 88-87 as a 14 seed!!!!
