Seriously though James. This is amazing to have such a level of commitment. I'm amazed and jealous at the same time lol.
Is that you, JJRedick of the 2K boards? Welcome back!

You should start documenting your legacy again! It doesn't have to be elaborate. My original style was just to type up a paragraph about each game without giving much away in the form of statistics. In some ways, I miss this style as it was really easy to do.

BTW, my power was restored earlier this afternoon, so updates should resume.

      Syracuse (21-10) vs. #2 West Virginia (30-2)
      Madison Square Garden
      New York, NY
      March 13th, 2026

No. 2 West Virginia (30-2) won its 30th game of the season as they relatively easily dispatched the Syracuse Orange (21-10) 64-54. The game wasn't necessarily a blowout, but the Mountaineers led throughout and the Orange never really truly threatened in the second half.

Len Shields led WVU with 15 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and three steals. D.C. Montgomery added 12 points and four rebounds. Tre Welch had a career night on the glass as he tallied 10 points, 21 rebounds, and three blocks.

The Orange were led by L.F. Armstrong, who scored a team-high 14 points. Wahab Acker was the only other Syracuse double-digit scorer as he ended with 11 points and four rebounds.

WVU enjoyed a decisive 44-31 advantage in rebounding tonight, which ultimately was the deciding factor in the game as most other statistical categories were fairly even.

Notre Dame edged Louisville 87-85 earlier this evening, so WVU will face the Fighting Irish in the Big East Tournament Championship Game tomorrow night at 9 PM. WVU defeated the Fighting Irish 70-64 in the final game of the regular season a week ago.

Good luck in the Championship game against ND. You have a great year, would hate to see a loss here ruin your #1 seed.

It's crazy that I've never coached a team to a #1 seed before in this legacy. It looks like this is the year. That's another coach goal to knock off the checklist. I've also never had a team ranked #1 during the regular season until this year.

              March 14th, 2026

Tonight, the top two-seeded teams faced off in the Championship Game in the Big East Tournament in what was expected to be an excellent game. In the end, it was anything but. No. 2 West Virginia (31-2) jumped out to a huge lead early on and effectively had the game ended by halftime, with the Mountaineers owning a 42-19 lead as the two teams went to the locker rooms. The Mountaineers extended the lead further early in the second half before turning to the bench for the remainder of the game as the Mountaineers blew out No. 22 Notre Dame (23-11) 78-51.

Tre Welch led WVU in scoring with 12 points, eight rebounds, and three blocks. D.C. Montgomery scored 10 points and grabbed three rebounds. Waitari Trammell came off the bench to contribute 10 points and four assists.

Dusty Hailey was the only double-digit scorer for Notre Dame as he tallied 16 points and three rebounds.

With the win, the Mountaineers secure both the Big East regular season and Big East conference tournament titles and likely lock up a #1 seed for the upcoming NCAA Tournament. Selection Sunday is tomorrow. Interestingly, WVU head coach James Frizzell has never coached a #1 seed in the NCAA Tournament, so this will likely be his first. This is also the first WVU team under Frizzell's direction to win 30+ games. A deep NCAA Tournament run is expected. Anything less than a Final Four would be a disappointment.

This game's ranking system was never perfect haha.

I'm curious about Rider. Did they land a good coach somehow or what?

more than anyhting, much like in real life, it's probably their senior class pushing that team

seniors reaching their potential + team unity = highly competitive team, this is probably Rider's senior run..

                            maybe, just guessing tho

You're probably right, but I've seen really good coaches that got fired go to a smaller school and dominate for a year or two before moving on. A specific example is Kelvin Sampson. He's like an A coach, got fired, got hired at my old school when I left, and took them further in the tournament than I ever did.

Yeah, the only reason I can't complain too much about it is that they did clean my clock pretty good earlier this season, but it is ridiculous to be ranked behind a six-loss team.

Rider still has the same coach they've had for this entire legacy. Tommy Dempsey (B+ OVR) is their coach with a career record that is under .500. Interestingly, I think he got fired in real life a couple years ago from Rider.

Yeah, that appears to be the case. Five of their six best players on seniors. However, their third best player is a freshman, so they should still be decent in the MAAC conference next year, though they're probably done making waves nationally.

I have, as well, though it appears this might just be a one-hit wonder where everything comes together at the right time for a veteran coach. Or maybe Dempsey has finally turned the corner at Rider after two decades. I'm not sure.
