Re: Coaching Legacy of James Frizzell (CH 2K8)
You confuse me.
When you post your record next to your game recap's do you post it with what it is after your game? Like #3 (3-0) vs (1-1) Saint Louis (so you were actually 2-0)
then in your next game you have it (3-1) WVU vs (3-0) Alabama. (meaning you have already included your loss)
Seems like it should read your record before your game not after.
Oh by the way I got a new flash drive for my 360 and downloaded the 2013-2014 roster set, so I started over.
I am going to try my best to duplicate the amazing job you have done by playing as many games as possible (my goal is 90%) and I am starting in your old stomping ground with Cornell in the Ivy League.
Thanks!Comment

vs.
Harvard (0-4) vs. #3 West Virginia (4-1)
WVU Coliseum
Morgantown, WV
November 17th, 2026
In one of the most lopsided games in NCAA men's basketball history, No. 3 West Virginia (4-1) came out on top. The Mountaineers recovered from their prior three-point road loss against Alabama in a big way tonight as WVU completely destroyed a dramatically overmatched Harvard (0-4) team by a final score of 102-27.
"Complete annihilation," was the only way ninth-year Harvard Cheyenne Ervin could describe it. "There was nothing we could do to stop them. No lineup. No tactics... We were completely overmatched. I'm embarrassed for myself and this team for what transpired tonight. We did not even notch 30 points."
The Mountaineers dominated in every possible aspect of the box score. The Mountaineers shot 52% while holding the Crimson to just 19% shooting, including one of 27 from three-point range. The Mountaineers made 25 trips to the free throw line while Harvard only made it there four times. WVU outrebounded Harvard 58-22. Harvard committed 18 turnovers while WVU only committed seven.
Junior guard Erkan Stys was the only Harvard player who seemed to really show up as he hit six of nine field goal attempts for 15 points. He also notched three steals. In fact, Stys alone scored over 50% of Harvard's points (15 of 27).
Tre Welch was WVU's leading scorer as he totaled a double-double with 15 points, 10 rebounds, three assists, and two blocks. Jud Helms tallied 10 points, eight rebounds, and three steals while D.C. Montgomery ended with 11 points, three rebounds, and three steals. Nile Stevenson used the blowout to gain more playing time as he tallied a double-double in 21 minutes, scoring 14 points and grabbing 12 boards. Deno Woodwards also played very well as the freshman ended the game with 11 points, eight rebounds, and three assists.
Next, the Mountaineers will face an undefeated Arizona State squad in the NIT Season Tip-Off Quarterfinals at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

vs.
Arizona State (3-1) vs. #3 West Virginia (5-1)
Madison Square Garden
New York, NY
November 18th, 2026
No. 3 West Virginia (5-1) won its second game in a row as the Mountaineers emerged from a tight affair at halftime and exploded late in the second half of a 91-68 rout of previously undefeated Arizona State (3-1).
The Mountaineers trailed for much of the first half and only led by two, 32-30, at the halftime break. The game continued to be close for a good portion of the second half until the Mountaineers' offense caught fire late in the second half. In the end, WVU would end up putting 59 points on the board in the second half alone.
It was truly a balanced effort across the board, though WVU's frontcourt and bench were especially key to the victory. Tre Welch led WVU in points and rebounding with 17 points, 11 rebounds, and three assists. Jud Helms also played magnificently in all facets of the game as he ended with 15 points, six rebounds, three assists, and five steals. Deno Woodards came off the bench to contribute a career-high 14 points and four steals while sophomore point guard Waitari Trammell filled in for a struggling Anderson Black as Trammell paced the offense with 12 points, six rebounds, five assists, and three steals.
Danijel Hale had a fantastic game for the Sun Devils as he scored a career-high 20 points. Sophomore center Kenny Little also played well as he tallied 16 points and eight rebounds.
WVU was dominant on the glass, where they outrebounded the Sun Devils 38-24. The Mountaineers also easily won the turnover battle as they only turned the basketball over eight times while Arizona State did so 19 times.
With the win, the Mountaineers will move on to the NIT Season Tip-Off Championship Game where they will face fellow Big East member No. 21 Connecticut, who is undefeated at 4-0.

Yep. They're only rated ~84 OVR now, IIRC. I'm not sure they'll even make the NCAA Tournament. What a difference a year makes! They had quite a run, though.Comment

Yale (2-4) vs. #3 West Virginia (7-1)
WVU Coliseum
November 28th, 2026
It wasn't always the best-played game by No. 2 West Virginia (7-1), but it didn't really matter. WVU faced off against a severely outmatched Yale (2-4) squad this afternoon and simply demolished them. The Mountaineers got off to a slow start and let the Bulldogs hang around for the first 10 minutes or so of the game, but after that, it was all-WVU as the Mountaineers went on to pummel Yale 84-36.
Tre Welch led the way with 15 points, 11 rebounds, and two blocks. Leandro Summers scored 13 points and grabbed three boards while R.J. Peterson came off the bench to hit three treys and score 11 points.
B.A. Burleson was Yale's leading scorer as he ended with eight points and six rebounds.
The Mountaineers will face Lehigh next Wednesday.
