      vs.
      Lehigh (4-3) vs. #1 West Virginia (8-1)
      WVU Coliseum
      Morgantown, WV
      December 2nd, 2026

No. 1 West Virginia (8-1) easily cruised past Lehigh (4-3) for a win this evening in Morgantown. The Mountaineers led from start to finish in their 88-50 victory over the Mountain Hawks.

The Mountaineers played a bit of a sloppy game with 16 turnovers, but they more than made up for it with their superb shooting. The Mountaineers shot 59% from the floor and hit 11 of their 16 three-point attempts.

Coach Frizzell was able to get a lot of guys into the game as a result of the blowout, so the scoring was distributed fairly evenly. Leandro Summers led the way with 14 points, four rebounds, four assists, and four steals. Jud Helms added 13 points and six rebounds while Tre Welch just missed out on a double-double with 13 points and nine boards. D.C. Montgomery scored 11 points, as did Bobby Dux, while Deno Woodards scored a career-high 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds from off the bench.

Issa Glover led Lehigh in scoring with 15 points. He also collected a career-high six steals.

West Virginia will face No. 20 Texas A&M next on Sunday in College Station, TX. Currently, the Aggies are undefeated at 6-0.

        vs.
        #1 West Virginia (8-2) vs. #20 Texas A&M (7-1)
        Reed Arena
        College Station,TX
        December 6th, 2026

No. 20 Texas A&M (7-1) is for real. The Aggies suffered a setback to wreck their hopes of an undefeated season earlier this week, but they bounced back in a big way this Sunday afternoon as they led from start to finish in a huge 64-62 victory over No. 1 West Virginia (8-2).

"It's a real disappointment," sighed WVU's head coach James Frizzell. "We were so close at the end, but [Texas A&M] played great."

The Mountaineers trailed by as many as 14 points early in the second half, but made a comeback in the late portion of the game. With time expiring, the Mountaineers had a chance to tie the game at 64-64. D.C. Montgomery got the call and sunk a 17-foot jump shot from the top of the key, but he didn't get the shot off until after the buzzer sounded, and the Aggies escaped with the huge victory.

Jazz Atchinson led the Aggies with 18 points and four steals. Senior center Henry Amerson was ultimately the team's MVP as he played superb defense and ultimately shut WVU's Tre Welch down. Amerson tallied 10 points, 12 rebounds, three steals, and three blocks. Hubert Garrison also added 10 points, three rebounds, and five assists.

Jud Helms led WVU with a career-high 18 points, four rebounds, three assists, and four steals. Anderson Black added 13 points, three rebounds, three assists, and three steals while D.C. Montgomery totaled 10 points and six rebounds. As mentioned in the prior paragraph, Tre Welch was basically shut down as he only managed four points, seven rebounds, and a pair of blocks in 24 minutes. He shot two-for-six from the field.

The deciding factor of the game was at the free throw line, where Texas A&M made 16 of 21 attempts while WVU only managed to get to the line 10 times, making eight of them. The Aggies did not have a particularly hot night from the field, only shooting 39%, but shot no better as Texas A&M's defense stymied a very prolific Mountaineers offense.

West Virginia will host No. 13 Virginia Tech in a week.

It was a matchup of bitter rivals. It was the "Backyard Brawl." But it wasn't a good game. No. 5 West Virginia (9-2) bounced back from its heartbreaking loss last week at Texas A&M by throttling No. 16 Virginia Tech (6-3). The final score was 81-64, but in this case, the score made the game seem closer than it really was.

WVU got off to a hot start. The Mountaineers led 27-5 early on and never let Virginia Tech back within 20 points until the backups entered late in the game. The Mountaineers led by more than 30 points for a large portion of the game, including a 48-17 advantage at halftime.

Tre Welch led WVU with 21 points, nine rebounds, and five steals. Jud Helms scored 16 points and grabbed four rebounds while D.C. Montgomery tallied 11 points and five rebounds.

The Hokies were led by Terrance Torbert's 13 points, three rebounds, and four assists. Dexter Garrett also added 12 points and four boards.

The Mountaineers now have 12 days off until hosting Rider on December 26th.

Is Tony Bennett still the coach at WSU? If not they did a great job of landing someone who seems to be doing a great job.

BYU at #4 with a perfect record is sorta strange to see.

Tough loss to TAMU but way to rebound with the nice win over V.T. Also like when you can beat the Hokies.

Great win against VT! Great way to play heading into conference play!

Random question... Is Kevin Stallings still coaching at Vanderbilt? I've always been curious how long he stayed there in a typical legacy.

Yes, he is. He is currently 57 years old with a 412-275 career record and nearly 100% job security. He's rated A- OVR (A+ TEA is his highest specific rating).

This team has been a bit disappointing so far this year as I don't think we're going to be as good as last year, but we're still a good team. Losing Len Shields hurt us a lot. My expectations were probably too high. We can still do some damage in the tournament, though, and who knows, maybe win it all if we get things together?

Yes, he is. He's currently 67 years old, so he should be retiring sometime soon, I'd think. He has a career record of 637-436 and is an A- OVR (his highest specific ratings are A in OFF and DEF).

No. 5 West Virginia (10-2) easily defeated the Rider Broncs (6-5) this afternoon. The Broncs held a 5-0 lead during the first minutes of the game, but after that it was all West Virginia. The Mountaineers took a 52-34 lead at the halftime break and put it in cruise control in the second half, gliding to an easy 93-73 victory.

The difference makers in this game were in West Virginia's frontcourt. Jud Helms led the way with a career-high 18 points to go along with four rebounds, five assists, and two blocks. Tre Welch tallied a double-double with 10 points and 11 boards while D.C. Montgomery added 16 points, three rebounds, and three assists. Nile Stevenson also came off the bench to contribute 11 points and nine rebounds to the Mountaineers' winning effort.

Senior guard Chamberlain Abbellard led Rider with a game-high 20 points. John Kilgore added 14 points.

Next, the Mountaineers start Big East Conference action against DePaul on December 30th. The Mountaineers have one non-conference game remaining against Marshall on January 8th.

Love that this is still going. Awesome job man. I'm in 2015 in my career legacy (Year 9) and I've played every game, but I never got around to writing it up.

I had a couple other start-ups here and there on these boards but I just couldn't get into them like this one (I started at Campbell and am currently with Gonzaga).

                              Keep it up!

Is Cincinnati playing bums or something? How do you win 11 straight and not get in the top 25?
