I really don't know...could be some of both. Cincy and Notre Dame are good teams, but they're still well below my team in OVR (my team is 95 OVR and I believe both of them were in the mid to upper 80s). They're not so low that losing to them is a huge shocker, but at the same time they are games we should be winning.

Defensively, we were out of control in the last game, for sure. The amount of fouls committed was outrageous. Chucking up 30+ threes maybe wasn't the best course of action, either, although we hit them at a good enough percentage, and our best big man O.J. Palmer seemed to have a case of the yips, anyways.

The Big East has lost some of its luster in recent years in this legacy, though it probably has as much to do with my team sucking all the air out of the building as anything. There's a lot of teams in the mid-80s, but not a lot of 90+ OVR teams (I know UConn is this year, and Louisville and Syracuse may be as well, but I can't remember). My guess is that as teams have struggled to compete in the conference, their recruiting has possibly stagnated a little. Only four teams of the 16 made the NCAA Tournament last season, which was disappointing. Maybe it's just cyclical and the conference will strengthen again in the coming years, though. They're certainly giving me a hard enough time this season. I'm not sure I am going to win the regular season conference title at this rate.

      vs.
      Louisville (14-9) vs. #2 West Virginia (18-6)
      WVU Coliseum
      Morgantown, WV
      February 8th, 2031

In these two teams' first rematch since last season's title game, Louisville (14-9, 4-7) took a step towards righting its struggling season with a 69-62 victory at the WVU Coliseum over No. 2 West Virginia (18-6, 7-4), handing the struggling Mountaineers their second consecutive loss, and their fourth loss in their last six games.

Once again, WVU settled for too many jump shots on offense, and committed too many fouls on defense. Both Fred Joiner and Willie Gomes fouled out in the second half, and the Mountaineers were on the wrong end of a 25-5 free throw attempt disparity.

West Virginia head coach James Frizzell modified his team's starting lineup for the first time this season as he took Ethan Augustin out of the starting lineup and inserted Willie Gomes (who has been closing out games at power forward for nearly the whole season, anyways), but it had little effect as the Mountaineers got off to a slow start in both halves.

The Mountaineers led 37-32 at halftime, but were inept on offense in the second half, struggling to just 25 points. Louisville took the lead early in the second half with an early run and never relinquished it from there until the final buzzer.

Kenneth Wells led Louisville in scoring with 17 points and Dee Granger added 13 points. Senior point guard Willie Flowers tallied 14 points and five assists and fellow senior center Hilton Castro closed out the double-figures scoring for the Cardinals with 10 points and six rebounds.

West Virginia's O.J. Palmer scored 18 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead all players in both categories, but he only shot an inefficient 8/20 from the field and scored less than a point per shot. Myron DeLeon scored 13 points, but shot just 3/11 from three-point range and turned the basketball over four times. Fred Joiner played well in his limited action, scoring 10 points and shooting 2/2 from three-point range, but he fouled out with five minutes remaining and only accumulated 21 minutes of playing time tonight.

Next up for West Virginia is a home game against 13-12 Seton Hall in a game that should be a good one for WVU to get back on track against weaker competition, though when a team has lost four of their last six games, they can't afford to take anyone for granted.

Dang another tough loss bro. It's going to be interesting to see how far you guys drop in the rankings. Hopefully you can rebound next game and take some anger out on Seton Hall.

Yeah, another tough one indeed. We're not losing these games by a lot, but losses are losses. Hopefully, we can right the ship. We've predominantly got games against conference bottom-feeders to close out the regular season, so I think we should be able to turn it around.

Our remaining seven regular season games are against:

          Seton Hall (bottom-feeder)
          Georgetown (bottom-feeder)
          Marquette (mid-level/bottom-feeder)
          Syracuse (mid-level team)
St. John's (mid-level team who I trounced earlier this season)
          Providence (bottom-feeder)
          South Florida (bottom-feeder)

There really should be at a minimum 5-6 wins in there and we probably should win all seven if we're really a top 5-10 team.

              vs.
Seton Hall (13-13) vs. #4 West Virginia (19-6)
              WVU Coliseum
              Morgantown, WV
              February 18th, 2031

No. 4 West Virginia (19-6, 8-4) got back on track this evening in Morgantown with an 87-55 pummeling of Seton Hall (13-13, 4-8) to end their two-game losing streak. The Mountaineers got off to a blazing start and led 52-27 at halftime as the game was never remotely competitive from the tip-off until the final buzzer.

West Virginia senior point guard Fred Joiner led all scorers with 21 points and 10 rebounds, though he also turned the basketball over seven times (of the Mountaineers' 14 total turnovers). O.J. Palmer had a nice bounce-back game with his own double-double as he totaled 14 points, 12 rebounds, and four blocks. Fellow big man Willie Gomes notched 10 points, five rebounds, and a pair of blocks while Myron DeLeon added 14 points.

The Mountaineers shot 50% (29/58) from the floor and 20/23 (87%) from the free throw stripe. The Mountaineers were much more aggressive offensively than in their past couple games as they got to the free throw line early and often and settled for threes less often. WVU attempted 21 shots from deep and made them at a 43% clip (9/21). The Mountaineers also held a decisive advantage on the glass as they outrebounded the outmatched Pirates 43-20.

Still, the Mountaineers were a little too generous with their fouling on defense as Seton Hall made 31 trips to the free throw line.

Sophomore forward Chris Vianney led all Pirates in scoring with 15 points and Gregg Mobley added 11. However, Vianney only shot 3/14 from the floor (but 9/11 from the free throw line) and Mobley shot a woeful 3/16, so neither were efficient scoring the basketball.

West Virginia has a week off before trying for their 20th win of the season against the Georgetown Hoyas at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. As has become typical in the last decade, the Hoyas are currently last in the Big East with a woeful 6-18 overall record, including a 2-8 record in Big East Conference play.

Haha, yes, that is my hope as well. At least the schedule gets more favorable so we should be able to get into a rhythm before March.

It amazes me, as well. I was so young when I started this, haha.

*out of breath* finally... caught... up! For real tho, this has been a great part of my winter break so far. Loving this. Keep it up!

I would love to pick up a copy of this game myself and make a dynasty, however I would only want to do it if there was the original 2008 community named rosters, not any update from a later season. Do you know anywhere to find that download file?

As far as original named rosters from the 2007-2008 season, it looks like this thread has a link to them on the fourth page:
