Yes. I'll give some thought to the WCC or maybe the Mountain West.

This isn't dead guys. I just haven't played this game much lately. When I get the urge to play again, this will be firing back up!

Well whats it going to take to get you to have the Urge again.

I believe a switch to a new team and bigger conference will help bring the game back to life, but even if you can't bring yourself to it don't forget to stop by and give Coach Akpan some love by reading and leaving comments on how he is doing.

I just got NCAA 09, so I'm pretty into that for now. I am off for the rest of the week due to Thanksgiving, so I'll try to play some College Hoops 2K8 sometime during that span. I think a mid-major may liven the game up a bit. I'll see, though.

Oh, I'm still reading your legacy!

Alright, well, I'm going to try to fire this baby up again I think. I'm starting to get that basketball itch as we move into the conference portion of the real basketball season!

I'm still not sure about staying at Princeton after this season. I've grown attached to my players, but I really would love more of a challenge. Plus, it feels unrealistic getting high caliber recruits coming to a high quality academic institution like Princeton.

          I don't know; I'll see...

Tigers Get Win on the Road

            12/29 @ Vermont

            Final: 76-51

The Princeton Tigers now have only three games left before the start of conference play after tonight's 25 point victory over a Vermont Catamount team on the road. "We struggled a bit early and only had an 11 point lead at halftime, but we were able to pull away in the end," Coach Frizzell explained. It was an all-around effort for the Princeton starters as four of them got into double-figures scoring and five Princeton players overall eclipsed the 10 point mark. The key player, as has been par for the season, was Cassiand Swift, whose 13 points and 12 rebounds was key in the game. Meanwhile, guards Reynold Gross (11 points, 6 assists) and Cedric Tchana (12 points) paced the offense while senior forward Wendell Lalugba added another 14 points. Even Benjamin McBridle came off the bench to nail five shots for 11 points.

            Princeton is now 13-2.

It's about time you got back to this. I was starting to miss Coach Frizzell.

You probably have built up PU so much that I'm guessing that it might be in the top 5 among small level schools. That's how it was when I was coaching Army with ch2007. When I left there and went to ODU, Army was one of the first small schools that replaced their coach. I had coached the Black Knights for either 5 or 6 seasons before moving.
If you can read this, thank a teacher. If you can read this in english, thank a soldier.

Yeah, with the basketball season really heating up I had to get back into it. Plus, after all this time away from it, I'm ready to get back in.

Yeah, we're pretty consistently ranked in the mid-major top five and I would say that we're in the top three or five in overall rating. We may be #2 behind only Gonzaga. I'm not sure. Whatever the case, our overall team rating is either 85 or 86; I can't remember which is the correct one, but it's one of those two.

Your Friars are looking good through their first five games of Big East Conference play, with their only loss being today on the road against #10 Georgetown. And that was a close game.

                  Princeton Blows Away Quinnipiac

                  12/31 vs. Quinnipiac

                  Final: 82-47

Princeton had played 12 of its first 15 games away from Jadwin Gym in Princeton, New Jersey. The Tigers finally returned home today after not having played a home game since December first and it was a sweeping success as the Tigers easily dismantled a 2-9 Quinnipiac team by a 35 point margin. "We played very good basketball today. We did everything needed to do to win," said Coach Frizzell in a post-game interview. Surprisingly, freshman guard Benjamin McBridle came off the bench to lead the team with a career-high 21 points. McBridle caught fire midway through the second half and made basket-after-basket on his way to 21 points. Cassiand Swift had a solid day, as well, tallying 13 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 blocks while Wendell Lalugba added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the 82-47 victory.

                  Princeton is now 14-2.

                  Princeton's Still #2

                  1/6 @ #20 Rutgers

                  Final: 63-64

Princeton came into this game against the 20th ranked team in the country, the Rutgers Scarlet Knights, looking to prove that it was the best team in New Jersey. Instead, the Tigers walked away from the RAC with a heart-wrenching one point loss. Princeton had the ball down 64-63 with 20 seconds left and a chance to win. The Tigers fed the ball down low to star center Cassiand Swift, who shot a hook shot from about eight feet out. Unfortunately, Swift's shot bounced off the back of the iron and Rutgers snuck away with a slim home victory. "We did everything right. We wanted to get either Wendell [Lalugba] or Cassiand [Swift] the ball and Cassiand had great position down low. Unfortunately, he just missed the shot. That's all there is to it," said a frustrated Coach Frizzell following the loss. Swift had an all-around off night as did most of the team. Swift only managed 5 points and 7 rebounds and only one Princeton player managed to get into double figures, which was Reynold Gross (15 points, 4 assists). In addition, Swift was 2-for-9 from the field. The Tigers only shot 3-for-15 from downtown, as well, as the Tigers had an all-around bad shooting night in a very chippy game against their instate rival. The Tigers play their final non-conference game of the regular season on January 15th at home against Utah Valley State.

                  Princeton is now 14-3.

I recently got back into this game. I rarely play the games though. Love doing the recruiting and building up a school from nothing.
I don't like the Yankees, I like the Red Sox, I don't like the Lakers, I like the Celtics, I hate the Canadiens and I love the Bruins. Soccer is the best sport on Earth, but most Americans are too ignorant to realize it. I am American.

Yeah, I really do love the recruiting in this game. It's simple, but sometimes simple is a good thing. I don't like to fiddle with recruting for extended periods of time each weeks, so College Hoops 2K8 suits me pretty well. I still like ESPN College Hoops 2K4's recruiting the best, but 2K8 is about as good as it gets besides 2K4 IMO.

                        Princeton Drops Second Straight Game

                        1/15 vs. Utah Valley State

                        Final: 61-64

For the first time this season, Princeton has dropped a game at home and the Tigers will head into Ivy League Conference play having lost their past two games against Rutgers and, surprisingly, Utah Valley State. The Wolverines came into the game at 12-6, but few really anticipated them beating the Tigers, but that's just what they did. Princeton was down 30-22 at halftime and trailed most of the second half, but came back with a chance to tie the game at the buzzer. However, Wendell Lalugba's trey clanked off the front iron and the Wolverines walked out of the Jadwin Gym with a 64-61 upset over the Tigers. "This was a very disappointing loss because we played so sloppy. We should have won this game, but we couldn't shoot the ball, period," said Coach Frizzell. In all, the Tigers went a disgusting 2-18 from beyond the arc, including an 0-6 mark for Lalugba, who neded with 11 points and 6 rebounds. "It wasn't one of my better days," Lalugba said. The only other Tiger who got into double-figures was Reynold Gross (15 points, 3 assists) while C.J. Harrington just missed the 10 point barrier as he ended with 9 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 blocks.

                        Princeton is now 14-4.

Tigers Open Up Conference Play With a Sloppy Win

                        1/19 vs. Penn

                        Final: 89-69

"We played horribly. I don't know how we won by 20, but there's no way we can play with the big boys if we continue to play like this." Those were the words of a frustrated Coach Frizzell after his team beat a Penn team pretty handily. However, though the Tigers scored 89 points and won by 20, there were problems. The Tigers turned the ball over 19 times, 12 times in the first half alone, which is a lot for a team that prides itself on not turning over the basketball, averaging less than nine per game. Princeton shot a combined 4-16 from three-point range, as well, as the Tigers continue in their shooting slump. To top it all off, the Tigers' defense was not exactly stellar, either. Still, Princeton had all five starters in double-figures by game's end. Cassiand Swift bounced back from a 6 point game against the Wolverines to end with 17 poinyd, 17 rebounds, and a career-high 4 steals. C.J. Harrington teamed up with Swift down low to deliver 10 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists. Wendell Lalugba (11 points, 4 rebounds) and Cedric Tchana (12 points, 2 steals) continued their poor shooting, going a combined 2-10 on the day from downtown, but still reeled in solid performances while Renold Gross tallied 15 points, 3 assists, and a career-high 7 rebounds.

                        Princeton is now 15-4 (1-0).

                        Mid-Major Top 10 News

The Gonzaga Bulldogs (12-5), having lost three straight in WCC play, finally relinquished their firm hold on the #1 spot in the latest mid-major top 10 poll as Miami-OH (14-2) took over as the new #1. Meanwhile, Princeton slipped back one spot to #7 after losing a heartbreaker to Utah Valley State at home this past week.

                        Press Conference

With the Ivy League Conference season starting this past week, Coach Frizzell held a press conference to discuss how he feels about this team. "We look really good at times, but at other times we don't look so good. We haven't looked good in about five games and that's beginning to concern me. We just haven't be playing Princeton basketball lately, so to speak, and we've been shooting badly and making idiotic mistakes.

"We've had to allow our athleticism to carry us over our last few games and that won't get it done against the big boys in college basketball, as shown in our losses against Rutgers and Utah Valley State. We are primarily a jump shooting team, so when we aren't hitting shots, it certainly takes a toll on us."

Coach Frizzell was also asked about the prospects of him moving on to another school next season. "This question has came up over and over the last few years. I'm not going to deny that I won't leave. I have no idea yet, to be honest. I'm happy in the position I'm in now, but if something that I perceive to be better opens up, then I very well may take it. The bottom line is that those things will occur after this season is over and right now I'm focused on making this season a success. I'll worry about that other stuff in April after the season is over. For now, I'm concentrating on winning here in Princeton."

                          Rout for the Ages

                          Final: 96-38

Princeton played a very sloppy game against Penn in their first meeting at the Jadwin Gym a week ago, but Princeton came back with a vengeance in this one, routing the Quakers by 58 points in a 96-38 blowout. "We came out ready to play and we executed our offense and our defense. That's all there was to it," said Coach Frizzell following the game. It was an extremely balanced scoring effort on the offensive side of the ball with only three players getting into double-figures scoring for Princeton. Surprisingly, C.J. Harrington led the Tigers in scoring with a career-high 16 point and 5 rebounds. His partner in crime down low, Cassiand Swift, tallied 15 points and 12 rebounds while Cedric Tchana (14 points) and Reynold Gross (8 points, 7 assists, 2 steals) paced the offense with fine performances in the bonafide blowout.

The Princeton Tigers slid up one spot in the latest mid-major top 25 poll as the Tigers are now ranked #6. Miami-OH (16-2) still remains undefeated in MAC play and is still #1 in the mid-major poll.

Lalugba's Career Game Lifts Tigers Past the Century Mark

                          2/1 @ Yale

                          Final: 102-70

Wendell Lalugba has consistently been the best player on this Princeton roster since he was a freshman back in 2009, but never before has he had a performance like this. Lalugba scored a career-high 44 points, the most points scored by a single player under Coach Frizzell. Lalugba still fell 14 points short of Bill Bradley's seemingly unbreakable Princeton school record of 58 points in a single game, but it was an epic performance as Lalugba nailed 10-13 from three-point range and 16-19 overall as he seemingly couldn't miss as the Tigers surpassed the century mark for the first time this season. Reynold Gross got into a bit of the action, as well, scoring 10 points and tallying 6 assists. Kirby Guzman got two career-highs in this one, scoring a career-high 14 points and grabbing a career-high 4 steals. Cassiand Swift barely missed a double-double as the freshman stuf totaled 8 points and 10 rebounds.

                          Princeton is now 17-4 (3-0).

                          Princeton Cruises Past Columbia

                          2/2 @ Columbia

                          Final: 77-45

Princeton put on one of the best defensive performances in NCAA history in the first half as the Lions of Columbia were held to sub-10% shooting and a whopping 6 points at halftime as Princeton held a 40-6 lead. However, Princeton's defense got a bit overconfident it seemed in the second half and allowed the Lions to rally to score 39 second half points to get to 45 points by game's end. "It was a shame to allow so many points in the second half. I thought we may be able to hold them under 30, but they had a great gameplan there in the second half that we weren't prepared for. We won by 32 still, so I don't think we have much to complain about," said Coach Frizzell. Princeton had another balanced scoring effort with only two players getting into double figures. Wendell Lalugba was hot early as he hit his first two three-pointers after his monstrous game yesterday, but he cooled off a bit to only end with 11 points. Meanwhile, Reynold Gross did a great job of distrubuting the ball and pacing the offense as the talented senior ended wtih 17 points, 8 assists, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals.

                          Princeton is now 18-4 (4-0).

Yep, it appears that I'm back into the flow of things again.

I'm really loving this game again now that it's fresh and new since I haven't played it for a while. Plus, it's college basketball season, which always draws me in to play.

                                Final: 82-34

The Princeton Tigers won their fifth game in a row today and improved to 5-0 in Ivy League Conference play tonight with a huge 48 point blowout at the Jadwin Gym. It was another balanced effort tonight as no player scored more than 14 points and four Tigers got into double-figures. Cassiand Swift led the way with 14 points, 13 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Cedric Tchana still struggled from beyond the arc, only hitting 2-8 from downtown, but he still managed 10 points while Wendell Lalugba totaled 10 points and 3 boards. Timon Michaud provided an encouraging spark from the bench hitting 3 three-pointers to end up with 12 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists.

                                Princeton is now 19-4 (5-0).

                                2/9 vs. Harvard

                                Final: 85-49

The Harvard Crimson gave the Princeton Tigers some trouble early as they clinged to an early 14-13 lead in Princeton, but the Tigers would eventually pull away to take a 45-24 halftime advantage and hold on for an easy 36 point blowout victory at home. Once again, Timon Michaud came off the bench to provide a spark as he ended with 15 points and a career-high 10 rebounds, the first double-double of his career. Wendell Lalugba also played nicely as he ended with 14 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals while Cedric Tchana tallied 12 points and 3 steals. Reynold Gross ran the point well as he ended with 7 points, 7 assists, 4 steals, and 3 rebounds. Princeton forced 18 Harvard turnovers on the day which led to numerous fast-break points and ultimately led to an easy win. Cassiand Swift suffered a strained archilles early in the second half of the ballgame. It is not known how serious the injury is, but we'll hope for the best.

                                Princeton is now 20-4 (6-0).

Cassiand Swift Out for 25 Days

The Princeton medical staff informed Coach Frizzell today that the Tigers' star center, Cassiand Swift, who suffered a strained archilles in the 85-49 victory against Harvard, will be out for approximately 26 days. He'll likely be sidelined for the next four weeks, but he could see some action before the regular season is over and should definitely be ready for the NCAA Tournament, which is certainly a very good thing.

Coach Frizzell said about Swift's injury, "It's obviously tough losing him because he's such a great rebounder and a great defender. He's such a dominant force down low and we'll miss his presence on both the offensive and defensive ends of the floor.

"However, I look at this as a challenge. We'll get to see how we can do without him and I think it will be interesting to see the results."

Coach Frizzell also announced the he would move power forward C.J. Harrington to center and 6'6 small forward Timon Michaud would take over at power forward, in what will be a small, but quick lineup for the Tigers. "We're going to go small," Coach Frizzell stated. "We have some great shooters in the lineup now as Gross, Tchana, Lalugba, and Michaud are all capable three-point shooters who can consistently nail the long distance J. I think this will work out pretty well and we should be fine."
