Looks like your Tigers were caught napping the last two games, Coach. Looks like time for a pep talk.

Congrats on getting PU onto both national polls. It's not easy for a small conference school to get there.

Yeah, I don't know what happened there, but we just couldn't hit our shots and our defense was less-than-stellar.

I was pretty surprised we got into the polls considering we were not ranked when we were 11-0, but I'll take it. We deserve to be ranked, anyways, and barring and upset, we should remain in the polls for the remainder of the season and possibly get ourselves a pretty good seed in the NCAA Tournament as a result.

            Princeton Storms Past Penn

            2/6 vs. Penn

            Final: 75-52

The Princeton Tigers recovered from two close games against Columbia and Cornell and played a great game from start to finish against the 12-6 Penn Quakers, who were second in the Ivy League coming into the game, sporting a 3-1 conference record. The Tigers had no problem of disposing of them, however, as the Tigers turned a 36-24 halftime advantage into an easy 23 point home victory. "We really recovered well and we finally showed up and played a complete game today," explained Coach Frizzell. Jarrad Lemons came off the bench to lead the team in scoring as he tallied 16 points and shot 3-4 from downtown. Benjamin McBridle (10 points, 3 rebounds) and Romain Bright (10 points, 7 rebounds, 5 steals) had solid games, as well. Cassiand Swift (6 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists, 3 steals) didn't have a great scoring day, but he made some great decisions when double-teamed and found open teammates for easy baskets all day long.

            Princeton is now 21-3 (5-0).

            Tigers Crush Crimson

            2/7 vs. Harvard

            Final: 80-54

The Princeton Tigers finished off their four-game home stretch today with a blowout victory this afternoon over the Harvard Crimson. Cassiand Swift had a great game as he shot 8-10 from the field and tallied a double-double, ending with 16 points and 10 rebounds. Romain Bright was stellar in this one as he scored a game-high 17 points while Jarrad Lemons came off the bench to score 10 points. Ashley Acasio came off the bench to deliver a career-high 15 points and 3 assists as he continues to develop into a solid guard coming off the bench. "Ashley (Acasio) is really starting to fit in nicely in the backup point guard role," explained Coach Frizzell. "He wasn't a point guard in high school, but given that we only have one true point guard on the roster in Wesley French, we moved Acasio to the point and he has run it very effectively coming off the bench.

            Princeton is now 22-3 (6-0).

Princeton Pulls Away to Defeat Yale

              2/13 @ Yale

              Final: 63-49

Princeton was behind 27-26 at halftime, but there is a reason that the Tigers have not lost an Ivy League Conference game in over two years. Coach Frizzell's Princeton Tigers went on a roll in the second half and coasted to yet another victory, though this one wasn't so easy. "We really just had a tough time out there and didn't execute too well, but we still won and that's the most important thing," explained Coach Frizzell. Yale did a great job at shutting down Princeton's star center Cassiand Swift as Swift only scored 4 points on 2-7 shooting. He did grab a career-high 20 rebounds, however, to go along with 3 assists and 3 blocks. Romain Bright led the Tigers in scoring with 15 points to go along with 4 rebounds while Wesley French paced the offense with 14 points and 3 assists.

              Princeton is now 23-3 (7-0).

              Tigers Maul Bears

              2/14 @ Brown

              Final: 67-48

The Princeton Tigers feasted on the Brown Bears tonight as the Tigers controlled this one from start to finish and ended with a 19 point victory to show for it. "We didn't beat Brown by a ton of points, but we had full control of this one and this was never in doubt. We didn't shoot quite as well as we wanted, but we played tough defense and that is why we won," said Coach Frizzell. Romain Bright (10 points, 9 rebounds) was the only Princeton player to get into double-figures in the game as Princeton used a balanced attack to down Brown. Cassiand Swift was mired in foul trouble most of the game and only managed 6 points and 6 rebounds due to it. Benjamin McBridle (9 points, 5 assists) and Wesley French (8 points, 2 steals) didn't hit double-figures, but had solid games, nonetheless.

              Princeton is now 24-3 (8-0).

The Princeton Tigers moved up four spots in the latest AP Poll as the Tigers are now ranked #13 in the nation according to the AP. In the Coaches' Poll, the Tigers are ranked 20th, while the Tigers moved up a spot in the Mid-Major Poll due to Pepperdine (19-5) suffering a pair of losses to Saint Mary's (15-10) and #5 Gonzaga (22-3). Princeton is currently projected as a #4 seed according to ESPN's Joe Lunardi.

              Princeton Tops Cornell

              2/20 @ Cornell

              Final: 87-64

Princeton's Romain Bright delivered a spectacular performance as he propelled his team to an easy 23 point victory on the road to move to 9-0 in Ivy League Conference play. Bright scored 28 points, one point off his career-high, and went 5-9 from downtown in the game to go along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals. In fact, the entire Princeton starting lineup did well in this game. C.J. Harrington (13 points, 3 rebounds) and Cassiand Swift (12 points, 15 rebounds) both had solid games down low as did Wesley French (13 points, 7 assists) and Benjamin McBridle (11 points). Every Princeton starter got into double-figures scoring. "We put on a really balanced effort out there tonight. Romain (Bright) starred, but he couldn't have done it alone and everyone else stepped up their game big tonight," commented Coach Frizzell.

              Princeton is now 25-3 (9-0).

                Princeton Blasts Columbia

                3/21 @ Columbia

                Final: 75-49

The Princeton Tigers blasted their rivals, the Columbia Lions, today in blowout fashion as they led from start to finish on their way to a 26 point pasting of the Lions on the road. "We played really well today. Our offense was efficient and our defense was great," stated Coach Frizzell. The Tigers got yet another monster effort out of Cassiand Swift as the star center grabbed 20 rebounds to go along with 10 points and 3 assists in the game. Wesley French paced the offense with 12 points while Romain Bright managed 11 points, 4 assists, and 3 steals. Tremmell Christensen came off the bench to add 12 points on 5-6 shooting.

                Princeton is now 26-3 (10-0).

The Princeton Tigers slid one spot in the latest AP Top 25 Poll as they are now ranked 14th. However, the Tigers continue to climb the ranks of the Coaches' Poll as the Tigers moved up four spots to #16 in that poll. The Tigers remain ranked #2 in the Mid-Major Top 25 Poll behind Gonzaga (24-4). Princeton owns a better record than the Bulldogs, but Gonzaga beat Princeton earlier this year in Spokane, hence the Tigers being ranked behind the Zags.

                2/27 vs. Brown

                Final: 63-38

The 14th-ranked Princeton Tigers put on a top 25 worthy defensive performance today as the ferocious Tigers defense held the Brown Bears to only 19 points in each half to end with 38 points. "We played a lot of different defenses out there today and it really threw Brown off guard," explained Coach Frizzell. The Tigers used a combination of man, 1-3-1 zone, 2-3 zone, and 1-2-1 zone today as the Columbia offense sputtered all game long. Princeton wasn't great on offense, but it got the job done as Cassiand Swift (13 points, 8 rebounds), Wesley French (10 points), and Nikola Tolic (10 points) all had solid performances.

                Princeton is now 27-3 (11-0).

                2/28 vs. Yale

                Final: 67-37

A 30 point victory at home gave the Princeton Tigers their seventh consecutive Ivy League Conference Title. "We have played well all season," beamed Coach Frizzell. "This team has grown over the course of the season and I'm excited about our chances in the NCAA Tournament." The Princeton Tigers put on a thorough beatdown in this one as the Bulldogs of Yale didn't even top 40 points. Cassiand Swift was a beast as he recorded 14 points and 13 assists. Romain Bright added 14 points while Jarrad Lemons came off the bench to total 11 points. Wesley French had trouble shooting from beyond the arc, where he was only 1-7, but still managed to end with 13 points and a pair of assists.

                Princeton is now 28-3 (12-0).

The Tigers retained their rank of #14 in this week's AP Top 25 Poll, but continued their climb up the Coaches' Poll, where they were ranked 15th this week, up one from last week's ranking of 16th. For some odd reason - perhaps the strength of schedule of the West Coast Conference, which is ranked seventh of all conferences - Pepperdine (22-5) moved past the Princeton Tigers (28-3), even though Pepperdine has six fewer wins and two more losses.

                  ***SPECIAL NOTE***

After considerable thought, I have decided to increase my half length from 16 minutes to 20 minutes to attain a fully realistic game. I have been trying to pace my offense more as of late and run more set plays, rather than play a run-and-gun style, and it has been satisfying. With a couple of slider changes (I lowered the dunk and layup success buttons a considerable amount because I hardly ever see missed layups in this game and lowered the close shooting slider to 38), I feel like I can have a realistic game while playing 20 minute halves, something that I have not been able to accomplish on any other game. Hence, from here on, I will playing on 20 minutes half, until I state otherwise.

EDIT: Oh, and Happy Anniversary to this thread. It is now officially one year old!!!

is running plays that much more fun? i run them late in a a game when i dont wanna just take an open shot or drive, but i never use them otherwise. id run plays, but it feels wrong having to use the icons and take forever to pass, and i use the 2k cam so i cant always see everyone, and im never sure when the play ends lol. but gratz on having this up one year, your run in the ivy league reminds me a lot like memphis or gonzaga, hopefully you can get princeton to that level soon and maybe win a nat. championship

Running plays is pretty fun, but I don't do it every time. I probably run plays about 50% of the time now or so. Mainly, I've just started to be more methodical on offense and walk the ball up court and such instead of hurrying up and trying to score quickly on the break, which resulted in too many turnovers and nearly cost me a few games in conference play over the past couple of seasons.

                        Princeton Wins Defensive Slugfest

                        3/6 @ Harvard

                        Final: 60-42

"We're really starting to pick it up on the defensive end of the floor lately. We were mediocre, at best, on defense early on this year, but we've progressed as the year has waned on and now we're really effective on the defensive end and that's something I love to see as a coach. Our defensive efficiency will really help us come time for the Big Dance." Those were the words of Coach Frizzell as his Princeton Tigers team laid waste to Harvard 60-42. Cassiand Swift had an efficient game as he tallied 12 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals off of 6-10 shooting. Wesley French totaled 8 points and 5 assists while Jarrad Lemons added 9 points to the winning effort coming off the bench.

                        Princeton is now 29-3 (13-0).

Coach Frizzell Picks Up Win #199

                        3/7 @ Penn

                        Final: 80-55

Coach Frizzell has only one more game to go to reach win #200. The Princeton head coach currently has a career record of 199-58 and will have an opportunity to pick up win #200 in the first round of this year's NCAA Tournament. "It's a nice milestone, but I'm not paying much attention to it. It's just a number," stated Coach Frizzell. On the floor, Princeton laid waste to the Penn Quakers as the Tigers jumped ahead early and never looked back. Benjamin McBridle had an excellent game as the junior shooting guard hit four three-pointers to end with 18 points and 3 assists. Romain Bright added 13 points and 4 rebounds while Jarrad Lemons (10 points, 3 steals) and Nikola Tolic (12 points, 4-4 3PT) delivered solid performances off the bench.

                        Princeton is now 30-3 (14-0).

Princeton also moved up two spots in the latest Coaches' Top 25 Poll, whre the Tigers are now ranked 13th. Selection Sunday

The Princeton Tigers received a #3 seed in this year's NCAA Tournament and will take on the 14th-seeded Robert Morris Colonials on March 20th, 2015. The Colonials are 21-10 overall this year and won the Northeast Conference with a record of 13-5 in conference play.

One would tend to think that the Tigers should be able to easily get by the Colonials, but stranger things have happened. Robert Morris didn't play a very tough schedule and lost to the tougher teams they faced, but they did win 21 games this season and have won nine of 10 games coming into the NCAA Tournament.

"We're not taking Robert Morris lightly. Yes, we should beat them, but we don't want to be yet another historic upset that is talked about for years to come," stated Coach Frizzell.

The Tigers will take on the Colonials at the Howard C. Gentry Complex in Nashville, Tennessee.

Assuming Princeton beats Robert Morris, the Tigers will take on the winner of the Duke/South Carolina game for the rights to the Sweet Sixteen. Duke comes in as a #6 seed with a record of 24-11 (9-7). The South Carolina Gamecocks (18-13, 8-8 SEC) are a #11 seed and one of the last bubble teams to make it into the tournament, but they have the potential to be dangerous. They come out of the SEC, who got an astounding eight teams in this year's NCAA Tournament.

For now, the Tigers will relax and practice in anticipation of their first round date with Robert Morris.

I just spent the last two hours going through this thread. Awesome!

I am in my third season at Pepperdine playing every game. I post my legacy at MaddenMania. I would post here, but I do not love the lack of posting format options.

I'm more interesting in reading about Princeton's Tournament that I am about the real tournament. That's the sign of a great dynasty.

Thanks. I always forget that there is a dynasty section over there for basketball games and such. I'll make sure to check out your Pepperdine dynasty!

I remember you had the Arizona Wildcats football dynasty last year and it was pretty awesome.
