Yeah, I've been addicted to NCAA 11 lately, as well. Unfortunately, I can't seem to keep a dynasty going long enough to post anything, argh. However, with football season ending now and college basketball entering conference play, I'm entering a basketball state of mind now, haha.

It was fun! And cold! And wet! LOL, the weather was straight miserable, but it was really enjoyable and I had a lot of fun. Got to see Stonehenge, the London Eye, Buckingham Palace, Hampton Court Palace, Parliament, Tower of London, St. Paul's Cathedral, and all that. We also went to a Sunday service at Westminister Abbey, which was neat.

Yeah, we need to get back Deuce on this side of the board. Blue_Apocalypse even posted his San Jose State dynasty on the football side. However, we need him to bring back his coaching legacy, as well! In addition, we need CincyFan. I haven't heard from him in forever.

        #11 West Virginia (4-0) vs. Tulsa (5-1)
        Carnesecca Arena
        New York, NY
        November 18th, 2010

In a battle of unbeatens, the 11th-ranked West Virginia Mountaineers (4-0) knocked off the Tulsa Golden Hurricane (5-1) 76-71 behind a strong effort by Raynardo Admundson and Osei Forney. The Mountaineers used a late run to pull ahead in the final minutes, securing their fourth victory of the season.

Freshman center Osei Forney led the Mountaineers in scoring with 19 points and eight rebounds, shooting seven for 11 from the field. The seven-footer has averaged 10.5 points per game over his first four games and has been living up to the hype that surrounded him during recruiting as he looks to be a future star. Forney stepped up in a big way tonight as starting center Marquel Proffitt only managed two points in eight minutes tonight as he faced foul trouble all night long, eventually fouling out in the closing seconds.

Raynardo Admundson also found his touch, nailing four threes en route to 18 points.

"We played very good basketball against a very good team in the Golden Hurricane," said Coach Frizzell. "We didn't play a perfect game by any stretch of the imagination, but anytime you can defeat a team of Tulsa's caliber, you've played pretty well."

With the win, the Mountaineers will advance to the final round of the NIT Season Tip-Off as they will take on the unbeaten New Mexico Lobos in the final round tomorrow evening in New York. New Mexico upset #9 Duquesne earlier today 82-80 to advance to the title game.

          New York, NY
          November 19th, 2010

The West Virginia Mountaineers (5-0) are your 2020 NIT Season Tip-Off Champions! The 11th-ranked Mountaineers topped the previously unbeaten New Mexico Lobos (5-1) tonight 68-59 at Carnesecca Arena to claim their first NIT Season Tip-Off Championship.

The Mountaineers started off hot, jumping out to an 11-0 lead right off the bat. However, the Lobos clawed their way back into it, cutting the deficit to a mere two points at halftime as the score read 31-29 in favor of West Virginia. The Lobos continued to compete hard in the second half, but in the end the Mountaineers were just too talented as West Virginia pulled away in the closing minutes to secure the victory and keep their unblemished season going.

"We didn't shoot the ball real well or rebound the ball well," said Coach Frizzell. "I don't really think we did a whole lot well tonight, but it was enough to win and I guess that's all that matters.

"It's an honor to take home the trophy for such a prestigious tournament. Many great coaches and teams have participated in the NIT Season Tip-Off, so it is a testament to this team that we were able to come out on top of the 2020 edition of this classic."

The Mountaineers were led by a strong shooting performance by Raynardo Admundson. Admundson nailed five treys to score 23 points, elading all scorers. DeShaun Chatman and Allan Pena also scored in double-figures, scoring 12 and 10 points respectively. Junior small forward Andriel Shimonovic led the Lobos in scoring with 17 points.

West Virginia will get a reprieve from tough competition next week as they will take on winless Cornell and St. Bonaventure. The following week the Mountaineers will begin the gauntlet that will carry on through the end of the season as they will take on #13 Duke, Charlotte, #9 Duquesne, Michigan, and San Francisco before kicking off conference play against #4 Villanova on December 30th.

If you can beat Duke and Michigan, it should be an undefeated non-conference season for you, barring an upset. I'm guessing San Francisco is still pretty good too. But listen; you lose to Dook, and we're all incredibly disappointed in you. No pressure though

I'll try to beat Dook... But it will be hard. They're consistently one of the top-rated teams in my legacy.

Ohio State has only played once, as well. I assume that they didn't play in any early season tournaments, thus, the lack of games, but still, only one game at this point in the season is tiny.

                      WVU Coliseum
                      Morgantown, WV
                      November 23rd, 2010

The sixth-ranked West Virginia Mountaineers (6-0) won their sixth game of the year in six tries this evening against a supremely overmatched Cornell (0-6) squad which has yet to win a game. The Big Red played well considering how badly they have played this year, but in the end their fine effort still resulted in a 26 point loss.

The Mountaineers struggled in several facets of the game, but still led 36-17 at halftime. However, Coach Frizzell wasn't able to put his starters in until the closing minutes of the game as Cornell battled in the second half and never let the game get too out of hand. Even so, the Mountaineers outscored Cornell 37-30 in the second half to garner a 73-47 victory at the Coliseum.

"We didn't play like the #6 team in the nation; there's no doubt in my mind about that," said a frustrated Coach Frizzell about his team's performance. "We're going to be traveling down to Durham to take on Duke in nine days and we need to get things straightened out before then."

Marquel Proffitt carried the Mountaineers with a strong performance rebounding and shooting the basketball. The seven-footer scored 14 points and snatched 11 rebounds as he hit six of nine shots from the floor. He also recored four steals and a pair of blocks. Frontcourt mate Osei Forney, the seven foot freshman out of Kent, Ohio, also played very well, totaling 11 points and eight rebounds in only 14 minutes of action. Raynardo Admundson was the only other Mountaineer to get into double-figures with 10 points and six assists.

Cornell had two players reach double-figures as Courtney Mayes scored 18 while Lucky Barber ended with 12 points. No one else scored more than seven points as the Big Red had a lot of trouble shooting the basketball, only connecting on 36.5% of their shots this evening. Cornell especially struggled from behind the arc where they only converted three of their 21 shot attempts. The Mountaineer weren't so hot shooting the ball themselves, only connecting on 41.8% of their shot attempts, but they also nailed 11 three-pointers and recored 15 more shot attempts.

As usual, you are doing a great job at WVU. Those couple of near upsets show that the team still needs to work out a few kinks before the meat of the yearly schedule, Big East play.

Thanks. We are playing well, but there's still certainly some kinks in our armor. We have room for improvement.

Just thought you might want to know the teams are swapped around on your boxscores.

Congrats on keeping this going. I feel bad for not gettin my Hoops dynasty back up and running but I bought a new 360, yet every Walmart in Spokane is out of transfer cables, so I need to order one on the net, so I can get my saved files off my old hard drive.
