    January 14th, 2034

No. 2 West Virginia pulled away in the second half to stay unbeaten this evening at No. 7 Connecticut. The Mountaineers (17-0, 5-0) were engaged in a back-and-forth battle with the Huskies (15-3, 4-1) during the first half, but West Virginia pulled away midway through the second half and led by as many as 20 points late in the period before holding on to win by 13 points, 90-77.

Vincent Danielson gave it all he could for Connecticut as the senior guard scored a career-high 35 points on 15/25 shooting. He didn't get much help, however, and Izik Friend was the only other double-digit scorer for UConn with 10 points.

"It was truly an exceptional performance," commented West Virginia head coach James Frizzell about Danielson's performance. "We threw a lot of different looks at him, but he found a way to get open, and even when we did have him covered he still hit some tough shots."

Nik Buscher tallied 19 points, 14 rebounds, and four assists for West Virginia. Myron DeLeon added 15 points and Boakai Clement scored 15 points and grabbed four rebounds. Clement shot 5/9 from three-point range and the redshirt sophomore is now shooting 47% from downtown on the year.

West Virginia has a week off before their next game at St. John's next Saturday.

Yep, it was a tough game. UConn is good. I expect to face them in the Big East Tournament Championship in March.

                    January 21st, 2034

No. 1 West Virginia (18-0, 6-0) rolled to an easy victory over St. John's (13-5, 5-2) this evening at Carnesseca Arena in New York, NY. The Red Storm came into tonight's game on a roll, having won five consecutive games, but you wouldn't know it from how they played tonight as they scored a season-low 49 points in an embarrassing 85-49 loss at the hands of the No. 1 team in the land.

Felipe Delgado hit seven three-pointers to lead West Virgini in scoring with 21 points in 20 minutes from off the bench. Nik Buscher added 16 points, seven rebounds, and three blocks and Skip Bradford just missed out on a double-double with 11 points, nine rebounds, and four assists.

Lavelle Clarke scored 16 points to lead St. John's in scoring and Darnold Obrzut added 10 points.

The Mountaineers led 45-22 at halftime as the Red Storm never seriously put the game in jeopardy.

Next, West Virginia will host No. 15 Cincinnati on Thursday.

What sliders are you currently playing on? I only ask because I know mine are pretty difficult but I feel I may be putting myself at a serious disadvantage with them. I want to make the game difficult but not unrealistic to the point where my stars are struggling to hit layups or my "three-point shooters" aren't able to hit any wide open shots. Much appreciated!

                            House Rules:

                            - I only play as one player on defense and do not switch mid-possession. I alternate position with each possession. Thus, one possession #1, I will play as PG, then possession #2 as SG, possession #3 as SF, possession #4 as PF, possession #5 as C, possession #6 as PG, etc....

                            - I tend to mostly pull back on fast breaks. It is very easy to throw a bounce pass through the defense unrealistically going towards the hoop in this game, which leads to too many layups/dunks.

                            - I do not use the 'B' crossover button, as I feel like this is too easy as to be cheesy. I do use the 'Y' crossover button, however. This makes a player's ball-handling rating important.

                            - I only do the turnaround post move once per half. I feel like it is overpowered and too easy to get easy layups and/or dunks off of it.

That is correct, Deuce. I just updated that post a week or so ago after I realized what I had posted a couple years ago was out of date.

I had the sliders set too easy back when I started this dynasty and I had success too fast, but I generally like where they’re set now. I’ve really only made minor adjustments over the last few years. It’s nice not to be slider chasing like I do in so many other sports games...
