Yep, agreed, though we've been having closer games recently, so it is probably a matter of time before one of these doesn't go our way. At least we shot well despite having a terrible effort defensively.

Cool! I will have to catch up; I am a bit behind at the moment!

Deuce is correct. I use OS' graphics, and the forms can be found here:

Nothing too complicated. Very useful tool as I do not know much HTML!

Yeah, I play a pretty fast tempo, so the scores can get pretty high. You could probably get a little more "normal" scores with 16-18 minute half lengths, but I am a sucker for realistic minutes per game numbers (among other stats). And our scores aren't out of line with some of the fast-paced teams we've seen over the years (90s UNLV for example, or even last year's UCLA Bruins).

I also figure that since I typically have the most talented team in any given game, if I can maximize possessions, I can probably maximize my team's chances at winning, since you'll get a more "even" dice roll over more possessions compared to less, on average, if that makes sense. Of course, that won't be the case if they're bad shots, but if I have an open shot early in the shot clock, I am going to take it, and I generally do not waste a lot of time before getting into my plays unless I am protecting a lead.

      vs.
      Providence (13-7) vs. #1 West Virginia (22-0)
      WVU Coliseum
      Morgantown, WV
      February 4th, 2034

Nik Buscher totaled 21 points, 20 rebounds, and three blocks to lead top-ranked West Virginia to their 22nd win of the season in 22 tries. Tonight, the Mountaineers pulled away in the second half to defeat Providence 71-59, completing the season sweep of the Friars after defeating them 96-63 a month ago in Rhode Island.

Buscher's 20-20 game is the first such game in West Virginia head coach James Frizzell's coaching tenure. "Nik is sure something," beamed Frizzell about his freshman center. "He's been great all year, but he gave us a huge lift tonight when we needed it. His presence inside was spectacular and the offense he gave us was key given our struggles shooting elsewhere."

Myron DeLeon added 11 points and four rebounds and Skip Bradford tallied 10 points, six rebounds, and five steals for West Virginia. Charles Rickert also had a great game from off the bench with 13 points in just 18 minutes.

West Virginia shot just 33% (26/78) from the field tonight, including 24% (9/37) from three-point range. Tonight's 71 points is also West Virginia's season-low in points scored.

Josko Dawn scored 15 points to lead Providence in scoring and Connally Parada added 14 points and six boards.

Next, West Virginia will face Georgetown in Washington, D.C. next Wednesday.

          #1 West Virginia (22-1) vs. Georgetown (11-14)
          Verizon Center
          Washington, D.C.
          February 8th, 2034

The dream is dead. No. 1 West Virginia (22-1, 10-1) saw its undefeated run end at game No. 23 this evening as the Georgetown Hoyas (11-14, 3-8) pulled off a stunning 83-76 upset at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. for only their third Big East Conference win of the year.

The Hoyas came into this season with a lot of talent, but they have struggled to put it all together. That is, until tonight and specifically in the second half, where the Hoyas overcame a 40-24 halftime deficit to outscore the Mountaineers 59-36 to win 83-76.

Georgetown shot 54% (28/52) from the floor and made 31 trips to the foul line, where they made 20 of their attempts (65%). West Virginia shot a serviceable 48% (31/64) themselves, but made just 6/26 (23%) from three-point range and shot just 8/12 (67%) from the free throw line.

Despite struggling in recent years, the Hoyas have always punched above their weight when it came to facing West Virginia. They haven't beaten Frizzell-coached teams many times, but they have put up some good fights. Williard Holmes, in his second year coaching the Hoyas, has taken over John Thompson III's philosophy of coaching great big men, and their size has always neutralized one of West Virginia's typical advantages over other teams.

That was true tonight as junior 7'2", 300-lb. center Nik Wong powered his way to 19 points and 11 rebounds on 8/13 shooting. West Virginia's own 7'2" center, Nik Buscher, also played well with 20 points, 11 rebounds, and three blocks as both players put together fantastic performances against one another.

Garrett Causey scored 19 points for the Hoyas and Gregg Crawford just missed out on a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds. Austin Willis added 10 points and seven assists.

Dedrick Packevicius scored 18 points for West Virginia and Myron DeLeon added 12 points, six rebounds, and four steals.

"You win some and you lose some. Tonight we lost," said West Virginia head coach James Frizzell after his team's first loss of the season. "Our perfect season is over, but we still have titles to contend for. Give [Georgetown] credit. They came out of halftime on fire and were hitting everything. We didn't play well, but at the same time that was a phenomenal comeback."

The Hoyas cut the WVU lead throughout the second half and finally pulled ahead with a three-pointer with five minutes remaining to take a 66-63 lead.

"At that point, it started to seem somewhat inevitable," said Frizzell. "They had had the momentum for the entire second half, but once they took their first lead of the game it started to look really dire. They were hitting everything and we had gone cold. We picked up our game from there and really tightened up down the stretch, but it was too little, too late by that point."

The Mountaineers, who at stretches this season had seemed unbeatable, have not looked so unbeatable in the last three games, which included tonight's road loss to sub-.500 Georgetown and an overtime victory at sub-.500 Marquette. Even this week's victory at home against Providence was a little shaky considering how well West Virginia had played this season up until lately.

"It's hard to win on the road, especially in conference action," said Frizzell. "We learned that against Marquette, and we learned that the hard way tonight. Teams are starting to catch on to what we do and we'll have to adjust. We'll be fine."

West Virginia will have three days off to recover before hitting the road for another road game at Seton Hall on Sunday.

Re: Coaching Legacy of James Frizzell (CH 2K8)

I'm usually pretty mellow when playing this game. I've lost NCAA Tournament games on buzzer beaters and moved on without getting worked up about it, but a controller was thrown following this Georgetown game. That was unbelievably frustrating. The undefeated season ending is fine, but to lose to a sub-.500 team is pretty unbearable.

Georgetown is a deceptively good team, though. They are in the top-half of the Big East by OVR rating, so in reality they're not as much of a pushover as their record would suggest. They haven't played well in their simmed games this year, but I don't think that has any effect on their OVR rating when you actually play them. Additionally, they have as much, if not more, size as I do, which is rare, and makes them tough to play, especially when my outside shots aren't falling.

Defensively, I am not sure what was going on there in the second half. It wasn't good, regardless.

Oh, well, time to move on. We should still win the conference relatively easily unless we fall into a tailspin.

Loss's against teams you feel you should've beat hurt, but it's those buzzer beaters especially ones in Overtime that have left me walking away and taking a couple day break from the game back in the day. But I feel like I have matured a little bit these past few years, but my last game I just played (BSU vs UW) tested it. I scored 60 points in the first half and had a huge lead, as they couldn't hit a shot, then in the 2nd half it was the complete opposite. I couldn't hit a 3pt to save me life and they couldn't miss until the one the counted most. A game typing 3pt at the buzzer.

There are always those games where the computer gets hot and there's nothing you can do to stop it. Hate to see the undefeated season go down like that but with that out of the way, time to focus on getting back on track for the Big East tournament and a likely 1-seed in the NCAA tournament.

I've never broken a controller either - come to think about it, I may not have ever thrown one - but I can imagine how frustrating a game like that has to be.

Haha, yeah, I am too cheap to be throwing controllers. Don't want to pay for another! But, damn, that game was frustrating! Big-time upsets are always tough to take.

I've never broken a controller either - come to think about it, I may not have ever thrown one - but I can imagine how frustrating a game like that has to be.
Yep, and I really seem to see this on MOP difficulty more, as well, from what I remember when I switched. Sometimes, the CPU goes on streaks where they simply do not miss and I cannot buy a bucket.

No. 1 West Virginia (23-1, 11-1) bounced back from their first loss of the season earlier this week at Georgetown with a 77-71 victory over Seton Hall (12-11, 7-7) this evening in Newark, NJ.

Nik Buscher tallied 20 points, 11 rebounds, and four blocks to lead West Virginia in all three categories. Myron DeLeon added a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds and Dedrick Packevicius scored 11 points. Shannon Edwards totaled 10 points, six rebounds, and three blocks from off the bench.

Seton Hall grabbed an early lead this evening, but the Mountaineers pulled ahead late in the first half to seize a 37-29 lead at the break. The Pirates were undeterred, however, and battled back to lead by as many as four points down the stretch before Buscher and DeLeon hit some big shots in the waning minutes to put the Mountaineers back on top at the final buzzer.

Seton Hall missed a three-pointer that would have tied it at 74 apiece with under 30 seconds remaining and the Mountaineers sank their free throws to close out the game.

"A win's a win, but we clearly have some things we need to work on," remarked West Virginia head coach James Frizzell. "We simply aren't playing as well lately as we had earlier in the season. At the same time, it's tough to win on the road in this conference, so we'll take the W and move on."

7'0" senior center Alfonso Meyers led Seton Hall in scoring and rebounding with 23 points and eight rebounds. Fezzik Watson added 14 points in just 15 minutes from off the bench, going 3/3 from beyond the three-point arc, and J.R. Fields added 13 points.

West Virginia will return to Morgantown next week for two games against sub-.500 opponents in South Florida and Rutgers.

As a huge Texas fan I love to see them having an amazing season. I would hate to see you and them in the title game because I wouldn't know who to pull for. Hopefully it doesn't come down to that!

Texas is really good. I was hoping we could meet up undefeated in the title game as that would've been epic. But we dropped our end of the bargain. I'm not sure they're going to lose the rest of the way, though.
