Jesus...can this team be stopped? It’s crazy to see how dominating you guys are playing right now, even blowing out ranked teams. It would be awesome to see an undefeated season. Sorry I can’t remember off the top of my head, but have you done that before?

We won the 2028 National Title with a 38-2 record and the 2030 National Title with a 39-1 record (our third and last national championship). That's as close as we've gotten. I think our only loss in the 39-1 season was against Louisville, but we got revenge by beating them in the National Title game.

Buscher looks like he could end up being one of your best players of Coach Frizzell's career. Not only has he become a scoring and rebound force, he seems to pretty solid on Defense and does a good job of dishing the ball as well.

Yep, yep, agreed. I was really excited about nabbing him during recruiting this last offseason and he has exceeded expectations, if anything. He’s legitimately the best big man on the roster, even better than Skip Bradford.

Yeah, it’s never a bad night when the whole starting five gets into double-figures. We didn’t get much help from the bench, but we didn’t need it.

Freshman small forward Felipe Delgado made 10 three-pointers and scored 30 points and added four rebounds to lead No. 2 West Virginia to a dominating 111-81 victory to kick off Big East Conference play this evening in Morgantown.

Delgado, whose previous career-high was 16 points, made 10 of his 15 attempts from the field tonight, all from beyond the arc. He scored his 30 points in just 18 minutes of action.

"I was feeling it," said Delgado after the game. "I don't think I've ever shot it that well before, even in high school."

"That was something special," remarked West Virginia head coach James Frizzell.

Skip Bradford added 17 points and 11 rebounds and Nik Buscher totaled 14 points and nine rebounds for the Mountaineers (12-0, 1-0). Dedrick Packevicius and Shannon Edwards each scored 14 points and Edwards also collected four rebounds.

The Mountaineers shot 47% (39/83) from the field and 44% (22/50) from three-point range, and attempted a season-high 50 three-pointers. Tonight's 111 points is West Virginia's fourth game scoring in triple digits this season.

West Virginia also turned the basketball over a season-low one time.

Abraham Madison was not to be outdone on Villanova's side as he single-handily did all he could to keep the Wildcats in the game with 32 points on 11/18 shooting, including 5/9 from three-point range. Anis Annen was the only other double-digit scorer for Villanova (4-7, 0-1) with 10 points and five rebounds in 22 minutes from off the bench.

Next, West Virginia will host Georgetown on Saturday.

No. 2 West Virginia (13-0, 2-0) used a dominating second half to keep their undefeated season alive this afternoon as they overcame a three-point halftime deficit against Georgetown (8-5, 1-1) to win 85-60.

The Hoyas led 35-32 at halftime as they managed to keep the high-powered West Virginia offensive attack under wraps, but the Mountaineers erupted in the second half to score 53 points while holding the Hoyas to just 25.

Nik Wong scored 25 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead the Hoyas in both categories, but his efforts were ultimately in vain as he got little other help. Giovanni Love was the only other double-digit scorer for Georgetown with 11 points from off the bench.

Myron DeLeon was West Virginia's leading scorer with 16 points and eight rebounds. Nik Buscher tallied a 13-point, 11-rebound double-double and Shannon Edwards added 11 points and four rebounds.

The Mountaineers shot an efficient 47% (33/70) from the field overall, but shot just 34% (12/35) from beyond the arc and only made it to the free throw line seven times (7/7).

West Virginia outrebounded Georgetown 40-22 and blocked six shots as a team.

"We showed great resiliency in the second half to right the ship and reverse our struggles," explained West Virginia head coach James Frizzell. "I can't say we really changed much at halftime, we just started executing better in the second half and started making open shots, and it fed into our intensity on the defensive end.

Next, West Virginia will head out of conference for their final non-conference game of the regular season as they will host the SMU Mustangs from Conference USA in what should be an easy victory for the surging Mountaineers.
