Great win at Marquette, always nice to notch a W against them. I can't believe they're only 9-6 though. Iirc isn't this supposed to be "their year"? When all those freshman from a few seasons ago are all seniors?

Yeah, they've underachieved so far this year for whatever reason. They've got a really good overall rating, but they haven't shown it on the court. That being said, given this they'll be dangerous and capable of a deep run in March.

Haha, yep. Quite the Shaq clone there. Fortunately, he didn't show up on the glass against us.

            vs.
            Providence (10-5) vs. #12 West Virginia (14-3)
            WVU Coliseum
            January 16th, 2033

No. 12 West Virginia (15-3, 5-1) won their third game in a row as they defeated the Providence Friars (10-5, 2-4) with relative ease this afternoon by a final score of 81-70.

The Mountaineers led by as many as 21 points late in the second half before the Friars made a run that was too little and too late in the closing few minutes of the game to cut the final margin to 11 points.

Ije Przybyszewski scored 17 points and dished out five assists for the Mountaineers. The top scorer for WVU came from off the bench, however, as Shannon Edwards scored a career-high 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the Mountaineers. Dedrick Packevicius also added 14 points from off the bench.

Connally Parada scored 13 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead the Friars in both categories. Fellow big man Younes Olsen added 12 points and eight rebounds and Lynn Butler scored 10 points. Senior guard Nicholas Larson tallied 11 points, four rebounds, and four assists while Jerrid Seymour scored 11 points from off the bench.

Today's game was fast-paced and quick, but the decisive element of the final box score was the Mountaineers' +7 turnover margin, as they forced the Friars into 14 turnovers while committing just seven themselves. The Mountaineers shot just 38% from the floor, but they attempted 77 field goals tonight compared to the Friars' 57.

West Virginia has two days off before hosting South Florida next Wednesday.

Nice to see you still rolling along into Big East play, especially with that thrashing of Marquette. Seems like the conference is fairly strong up top but down at the bottom is pretty weak so I think you could easily run away with it.

Yeah, the Big East is a little stronger at the top this year than in the past few years, but like you said the bottom half of the conference is pretty terrible. There should definitely be some easy wins, at least.

Pretty good. I signed 7'1" 4* center Nik Buscher in the early signing period, and just to update what I posted awhile back in post #3351, it looks like I should be able to sign 6'8" 5* SF Felipe Delgado pretty easily at this point, barring something unforeseen happening (Oregon was hot in his tail previously, but they dropped off the map as I think they may have run out of scholarships). I only have two scholarships to award this year, so that'll be it, and now I'm mostly focusing on recruiting juniors.

His last name is pronounced like "Shimesheski". I think the first name is just pronounced "Ije", but I am not 100% sure.

Yep. Sounds like this isn't how it is pronounced in Poland (which the name is Polish, I believe):
