How about Portland. 13-0 and #14 in the nation. Is this a 1 year fluke for the Pilots? and what is happening with Gonzaga? I am also curious what Boise State's season's have been like being how you are so deep into your legacy.

Boise State is 82 OVR and is 8-9 (2-3) at the moment. Boise State went 25-9 last year and I think they might have made the NIT last year.

Sometimes I wonder if I should leave WVU and head back to the mid-major level. Maybe I would if the right job opens up.
I really need to catch up on yours and some other legacies out there, BTW. I'm way behind...Comment

Yeah, they've really picked it up in recent seasons. It looks like Gongzaga is the early favorite to win the conference this year, however.

Coach a Mid-Major to a Final 4 and even winning a championship to me is one of best things about this game. If the right school makes me a offer I probably will jump down from the power conference latter in my career to build up a Gonzaga like program. I wouldn't mind going to the WCC, MWC or Sun Belt to finish out my career.Last edited by Deuce2223; 03-25-2015, 11:16 PM.Comment

Re: Coaching Legacy of James Frizzell (CH 2K8)
I went straight from N. Colorado to Oregon State skipping the Mid-Major and to be honest I sorta wish I would've done it differently. I actually had several Mid-Major job offers I liked, but I felt like I couldn't leave my 4* PF recruit until he graduated.

vs.
Rutgers (8-9) vs. #1 West Virginia (19-0)
WVU Coliseum
Morgantown, WV
January 17th, 2029
West Virginia head coach James Frizzell notched his 600th career victory tonight as his top-ranked Mountaineers (19-0, 7-0) throttled Rutgers 89-55.
Rutgers (8-9, 1-6) kept pace early and only trailed by 12 points at halftime, but the Mountaineers blew the game open late.
"It's such a privilege to coach here at this school and work with these kids," explained Coach Frizzell when questioned about how it felt to reach win No. 600. "When I started coaching, I never thought I'd be doing it as long as I have. It's a great milestone, but we've still got a lot of games to win this year left in us."
Frizzell's career record now stands at 600-166 at 47 years of age.
Waitari Trammell was a big reason why the Mountaineers blew the game open late. The senior point guard drained five three-pointers and ended with 20 points and five assists. Deno Woodards tallied 15 points while Fred Joiner added 10 points, three assists, and three steals. O.J. Palmer also had a nice outing with 13 points, five rebounds, and five assists.
Al Flowers was Rutgers' only real bright spot offensively. He scored 14 points and also collected 14 rebounds for an impressive double-double performance. Aubrey Bruff also came off the bench to hit a pair of threes and ended with 10 points and three boards.
Next, West Virginia will face off against St. John's on the road on Sunday.

vs.
#1 West Virginia (20-0) vs. St. John's (11-8)
Carnesecca Arena
New York, NY
January 21st, 2029
No. 1 West Virginia (20-0, 8-0) won its 20th game of the season this afternoon in New York as they easily defeated the St. John's Red Storm 88-56.
West Virginia jumped all over St. John's (11-8, 2-5) from the start. The Mountaineers shut down the Red Storm on offense during the first half, holding them to only 19 points as the Mountaineers held a 42-19 halftime advantage as the two teams headed to their respective locker rooms. The Red Storm got it together a bit more in the second half offensively, but the Mountaineers continued to put the ball in the basket themselves, so it had little effect on the final outcome.
West Virginia got to the free throw line early and often in this one. WVU shot a season-high 32 free throw attempts, making 30 of them (94%).
Waitari Trammell led the Mountaineers in scoring with 17 points and seven rebounds (career-high). Nile Stevenson tallied 15 points, seven rebounds, and three blocks while Deno Woodards hit three threes and ended with 11 points and three boards. Happy Olson had a nice game off the bench with 10 points and six rebounds while Ethan Augustin also added 10 points.
Demon Bishop scored a game-high 19 points and tallied four rebounds and three assists to lead the Red Storm. Point guard Dannorriss Wethers was the only other Red Storm player to score in double-figures as he added 14 points and three assists.
West Virginia will face Georgetown next on Wednesday.

#1 West Virginia (21-0) vs. Georgetown (8-12)
Verizon Center
Washington, D.C.
January 24th, 2029
Top-ranked West Virginia (22-0, 10-0) got all they could handle this evening against Georgetown (8-12, 2-6), but in the end the Mountaineers pulled ahead and secured a 77-66 victory at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. The Hoyas led for a large portion of the first half and had the game tied at halftime. The game was close throughout the second half, but the Mountaineers pulled ahead in the waning minutes and sank free throws in the final minute to secure the victory.
Fred Joiner scored a game-high 20 points to lead the Mountaineers in scoring. Waitari Trammell added 13 points, three rebounds, and three assists while Deno Woodards tallied 12 points and five rebounds. Nile Stevenson totaled 11 points, seven rebounds, and two blocks, but only shot three-for-nine from the field.
WVU's twin towers down low, Stevenson and O.J. Palmer, only shot a combined five-for-15 from the field as Georgetown's tall front-line (6'11" and 7'2") mostly shut them down offensively, exposing a possible weak link for the Mountaineers going forward.
Brody Mulic led Georgetown in scoring as he totaled 17 points, six assists, and four steals. Jaason Clement amassed 14 points, four rebounds, and four steal while Roland Klatsky added 11 points.
West Virginia hosts Syracuse on Saturday.

vs.
Syracuse (10-8) vs. #1 West Virginia (22-0)
WVU Coliseum
Morgantown, WV
January 27th, 2029
Syracuse (10-8, 4-5) had high hopes coming into this season, but have largely seen their hopes squandered thus far with a subpar non-conference outing and a rough start to Big East Conference play. They hoped to start to turn things around with a marquee victory against the No. 1 team in the country this evening and they kept it close against the Mountaineers for the majority of the game, but in the end the Orange couldn't stop the WVU offensive attack when it counted and the Orange fell 85-78 against undefeated top-ranked West Virginia (22-0, 10-0).
Nile Stevenson was instrumental to the Mountaineers' success on offense, hitting 10 of his 16 shot attempts and ending with 24 points, five rebounds, and two blocks. Deno Woodards, who has been in a slump for much of the season, also had a nice outing today as he nearly notched a double-double with 16 points, nine rebounds, and three assists. R.J. Peterson also was a surprise as he came off the bench to nail three three-pointers and ended with 11 points.
Mire Salow led Syracuse in scoring with 19 points, three rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Tony Sorenson scored 18 points and Douglas Horner added 12. Ajou Byrd also had a nice game for the Orange with 10 points and six rebounds.
West Virginia has a week off before taking on Villanova on February 3rd.
