Wow 4-26 from downtown. Either your new slider setting is really working against you or this team needs to think about working the ball inside more. Also doesn't help when you only get 16 chances at the F.T. line. Looks like they did a good job of play D and not giving up stupid fouls.

Yeah, we had good success shooting the basketball inside, so it was just idiocy on my part. Frankly, we had a lot of open looks from three-point range, so they weren't necessarily bad shots, but at some point it should have become clear that they weren't falling and we should have adjusted.

Well SJ, I guess this will have to continue to you reach a perfect season. Aww that is too bad

Also, how many years can you do a closed legacy? Is it 30?

Yes, that is correct. 40 years, so I am a little over halfway, though still so far away that it isn't an issue yet. At this rate, I will reach 40 years sometime in the 2021-2022 time frame. BTW, apparently this thread reached its seven-year anniversary several days ago.

Note: After the UConn game, I made a couple slider changes. I lowered the HUM inside success to 42 (from 43). I also lowered the CPU's shooting tendencies across the board by 10 (drive tendency did not change, though).

I have updated the slider set on the first page.

No. 1 West Virginia (24-2, 12-2) recovered from a two-game losing skid this afternoon as they defeated the visiting Cincinnati Bearcats (11-17, 5-10) by a score of 76-63. West Virginia led for the duration of the game, but the Bearcats cut the lead to 60-56 at one point late in the second half before the Mountaineers went on a 16-7 run for the remainder of the game to ice it.

The Mountaineers shot the ball much better from deep compared to their last two outings. They made nine of 17 shots from downtown and shot 46% from the field overall.

Deno Woodards led the three-point barrage with three treys and 13 points and three rebounds. Fred Joiner hit a pair of threes to add 14 points while Waitari Trammell also hit a pair of threes as he tallied 12 points and five assists. Nile Stevenson totaled 10 points, seven rebounds, and two blocks while O.J. Palmer just missed out on a double-double with nine points, 11 rebounds, three assists, and three steals.

Ervin Nicholas led Cincinnati with a game-high 19 points and three rebounds. Christian Butler was the only other double-digit scorer as he added 13 points, six rebounds, and a pair of blocks.

West Virginia has four regular season games remaining. Next week's schedule is tough with games at Notre Dame and No. 17 Pittsburgh.

No. 1 West Virginia (25-2, 13-2) won their second consecutive game as they hit the road and defeated the Notre Dame Fighting Irish (17-10, 9-6) this evening 64-52.

Notre Dame gave a good effort in the second half and was dominant on the glass against the Mountaineers, as they outrebounded the Mountaineers 36-29, which allowed them to keep the game close despite a rough shooting outing.

Noah Rios scored 14 points and grabbed six boards to lead the Fighting Irish in scoring. Kris Warden tallied 12 points and four rebounds while J.S. Bland added 12 points and three rebounds.

Nile Stevenson scored a game-high 16 points and eight rebounds to lead WVU. Fellow big man O.J. Palmer struggled rebounding the basketball as he only tallied four rebounds (he averages 8.5/game on the season), but added 10 points. Deno Woodards also hit a pair of threes and totaled 10 points, three rebounds, and four assists.

West Virginia will face No. 17 Pittsburgh on Sunday in the annual Backyard Brawl.

The top-ranked Mountaineers won their third consecutive game as they throttled No. 17 Pittsburgh (20-8, 9-7) this evening in Morgantown in impressive fashion 82-46.

West Virginia (26-2, 14-2) held a huge advantage down low against the Panthers as Pitt was vastly outclassed in size and skill at the forward and center positions. The Mountaineers used it to their advantage as they outrebounded the Panthers 38-23 and shot 56% from the floor while only attempting nine three-pointers.

"We realized we had an advantage and we went to work and seized it," explained West Virginia head coach James Frizzell. "We also played some lockdown man-to-man defense with some fits of both 2-3 and 1-3-1 zones and managed to keep their offensive game off-kilter all game."

Pittsburgh shot just 31% from the floor and only made it to the free throw line four times. The Mountaineers also racked up a season-high nine blocks as a team, with Nile Stevenson leading the way with four individually.

Ethan Augustin led the Mountaineers in scoring with a career-high 16 points and three rebounds in just 15 minutes from off the bench. Fellow bench contributor Armondo Whelchel added 11 points, four rebounds, and two blocks. Nile Stevenson led the starters with 15 points, nine rebounds, and a career-high four blocks. O.J. Palmer added 10 points, eight rebounds, and two blocks. Fred Joiner also tallied 12 points.

Christopher Collucci led Pittsburgh with 12 points and three assists while Sal Osborn was the only other Panther to eclipse the double-digit mark in points or rebounds as he ended with 10 points and three assists.

West Virginia closes out the regular season next week with a home game against a reeling South Florida squad and then a game against sub-.500 Rutgers in Piscataway, NJ.

No. 1 West Virginia (27-2, 15-2) took the the floor at the WVU Coliseum for the final time this season tonight as they knocked off the visiting South Florida Bulls (16-13, 5-12) 82-68 on Senior Night in Morgantown.

The Bulls came into the game having lost their last six games, but they did manage to keep this game close for the duration through a strong shooting outing, particularly from deep, where they shot eight-for-14. However, in the end the Mountaineers were too much offensively for the Bulls as they eventually overwhelmed them with a strong offensive night themselves with O.J. Palmer leading the way with a strong double-double performance of 22 points, 10 rebounds, and two blocks.

Fred Joiner also had a strong outing for the Mountaineers as he shot an efficient seven-for-nine from the field en route to 20 points, four rebounds, and three assists. Senior point guard Waitari Trammell was a pest all around for the Bulls as he amassed 14 points, five assists, and six steals (a career-high). The only other senior for West Virginia tonight was shooting guard R.J. Peterson, but he missed his two shot attempts in limited action and did not amass any other statistics in five minutes of playing time.

Acie Bird led USF in scoring with 19 points to go along with three rebounds and three assists. Elliah Spaulding added 16 points and four boards while seven-footer Clayton Woolley had a solid game down low with 10 points, seven rebounds, and three assists. Dodie Frey also added 11 points from off the bench.

West Virginia will close out the regular season Saturday at Rutgers.
