Re: Coaching Legacy of James Frizzell (CH 2K8)
Tough break. But considering you made several Final Four appearances this is far from the worst thing that could have happened. At least you were able to outlast the rest of the Big East who all crashed and burned in the second round (ouch!). I wanna see the Duquesne Dukes be the 2028-29 National Champions.Comment

I know you lost to Kentucky but how awesome is this game? You never know what is going to happen from one game to the next, just like in actual life!Comment

Re: Coaching Legacy of James Frizzell (CH 2K8)
It's good that you have the Defensive Player of the Year returning and he put up decent points. What kind of offense do you run? 82 PPG is crazy! And the defense really came through allowing only 63. Talk about efficiency!Comment

Re: Coaching Legacy of James Frizzell (CH 2K8)
I am curious if you go all in after the #1 player in the country or do you pretty much just stick to recruiting your region? Seems like with your resume and past success in the NCAA tournament even west coast guy's should have West Virginia on their Top-5 or at least Top-10.
I am also confused how is the National Defensive Player of the Year not a 2k Sports Award winner? What does it take to get it.
In all my years of playing this game and even with multiple National Title's in a row, I can't remember ever having earned that attribute or the National POY.
Oh more question's. Has NC State ever came up in the coaching carousel and would you ever consider leaving WVU for it? How many more years do you see yourself staying at WVU (800 wins or 900?) and do you think you will leave for a struggling power conference team or maybe go back and build up a non-traditional mid-major into a power program?Last edited by Deuce2223; 04-08-2015, 12:19 PM.Comment

Re: Coaching Legacy of James Frizzell (CH 2K8)
Final Four with no 1# seeds? That's different. Who do you plan on having replace Trammel with him being the only true point guard on the roster? Going to convert a SG or is there a stud freshman coming in that you're going to throw right into the starting rotation?Check out my dynasty thread:

Re: Coaching Legacy of James Frizzell (CH 2K8)
I use the Princeton playbook, though I tend to run it pretty fast. I've also changed some sliders recently in order to try to slow down the pace some as some of the scores were getting out of hand. You might have noticed that the conference tournament and NCAA tournament games were a bit lower-scoring and that will be what I roll with going forward into next season.
Side note: Updated sliders/house rules have been posted in the first post. One thing I will add that I have been doing, but have not mentioned before is that I only play as one player on defense and do not switch mid-possession. I alternate position with each position. Thus, one possession #1, I will play as PG, then possession #2 as SG, possession #3 as SF, possession #4 as PF, possession #5 as C, possession #6 as PG, etc....
I also moved the CPU's drive tendency back up to 100 so they were a little more aggressive driving to the hoop (they might have been a little passive at 60).
I am curious if you go all in after the #1 player in the country or do you pretty much just stick to recruiting your region? Seems like with your resume and past success in the NCAA tournament even west coast guy's should have West Virginia on their Top-5 or at least Top-10.
I will recruit from everywhere. I don't have any house rules there nor do I think I really need to (I've only hauled in the #1 class once and I think it is realistic that a team with my team's success would roll in consistent top 10-20 classes each season). It wasn't until recently that I really started to consistently roll in 5* recruits.
I am also confused how is the National Defensive Player of the Year not a 2k Sports Award winner? What does it take to get it.

I very well may leave sometime, but it's really hard to say. I have given some thought to maybe taking the UNC Greensboro job if it ever opens up (where I eventually graduated with my B.S. and am currently in the M.A. Econ program), but I'm just not sure if I would go back down to a small-conference team or not.
NOTE: BTW, I am still working on catching up with your legacy. I'll be there soon!

That being said, enjoy the game, regardless.
It might take a little getting used to if you have played NBA 2K14 or whatever (and I have), but I don't find the transition too hard.
Joiner is technically a PG even though I started him at SG this year, so he will likely get the starting job unless the PG I am bringing in is really, really good. Gabler will probably get the nod at starting SG.Last edited by superjames1992; 04-08-2015, 07:19 PM.Comment

2029 Recruiting Class
West Virginia's James Frizzell has wrapped up to the 2029 recruiting class at West Virginia as 5'9" point guard Theron Dux signed with the Mountaineers to fill their second open scholarship position of the offseason.
Theron Dux hails from Spokane, WA and is the #3-ranked point guard of the 2029 class, and, more impressively, the #4-ranked overall recruit. Dux is a crafty point guard with good skills and a decent stroke. What he lacks in height (he is 5'9") he makes up with excellent ball-handling, passing ability, and court vision. Dux will likely battle Fred Joiner and Predrag Gabler for a starting position in the backcourt from day one and will almost assuredly see significant playing time.
West Virginia's other recruit for the 2029 class is Willie Gomes. Gomes hails from Lincoln, NE and is the #7 overall recruit and the #1-ranked power forward in this year's class. Gomes is an intelligent player with good size (6'10"). He isn't a spectacular shooter, but he was a stellar defender in high school and is a solid rebounder. He could see time at center depending on how things develop. The Mountaineers are loaded at power forward and center this coming season, so it is possible that Gomes might be redshirted depending on how he plays in pre-season practice.
Even with only two scholarships available, the Mountaineers' 2029 class ranks #10 in the country and #2 in the Big East. Georgia Tech hauls in this year's #1 overall class while DePaul surprisingly leads the Big East this season with the #8 overall class. For West Virginia, this year's class was a small one with only two open scholarships, but what it lacked in quantity it made up for in quality with two All-Americans and two Mr. Basketballs of their home states (Washington and Nebraska).
Signed Recruits:
1. Theron Dux 5'9 177 (Spokane, WA - #4 overall, #3 PG) 5* - All-American, Mr. Basketball
2. Willie Gomes 6'10 219 (Lincoln, NE - #7 overall, #1 PF) 5* - All-American, Mr. BasketballLast edited by superjames1992; 04-08-2015, 07:21 PM.Comment
