      Houston (4-1) vs. #2 West Virginia (10-0)
      WVU Coliseum
      Morgantown, WV
      December 13th, 2028

Second-ranked West Virginia (10-0) took care of business this evening as they disposed of the undefeated Houston Cougars (4-1) 94-66, looking ahead to this Sunday's matchup against fellow undefeated seventh-ranked Boston College.

Tonight, Houston kept the game close for much of the first half, but the Mountaineers went on a run near the end of the half to seize a 53-35 lead at the halftime break. The Mountaineers rolled early in the second half to put the game out of reach.

Nile Stevenson led WVU with 18 points and nine rebounds while Fred Joiner tallied 14 points and four assists. Deno Woodards totaled 10 points and four rebounds. Three Mountaineers totaled at least 10 points from off the bench. Ethan Augustin led them with 11 points and four rebounds while Armondo Whelchel and Predrag Gabler added 10 points apiece.

Simplice Pratt led Houston in scoring with 15 points. 306-pound sophomore center Sam Dahl had a nice outing, hitting five of his six shot attempts for 12 points, seven rebounds, and a pair of blocks. Darian Prince had an inefficient shooting day, but ended with 14 points and three assists.

West Virginia will travel to Boston, MA to take on the undefeated No. 7 Boston College Eagles this Sunday in what should be a great matchup of top 10 teams.

        #2 West Virginia (11-0) vs. #7 Boston College (8-1)
        Conte Forum
        Chestnut Hill, MA
        December 17th, 2028

Two top 10 undefeated teams faced off against one another this evening as No. 2 West Virginia (11-0) took on the No. 7 Boston College Eagles (8-1) in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. It was a well-played game and close throughout, but the Mountaineers came through when it mattered and took a double-digit lead late in the game to secure a 64-54 victory over the Eagles.

West Virginia took an early lead, but the Boston College Eagles used a 10-0 run to take the lead back midway through the first half. The Eagles would hold onto their lead at halftime as the two teams headed to the locker rooms with the score 30-25 in favor of the home team with the Mountaineers struggling to put the ball into the basket.

The Mountaineers' fortunes began to turn in the second half. After starting out making one of their first nine three-point attempts, the Mountaineers turned it around to an extent as they would sink three of their remaining nine attempts. Still, offense was largely a struggle, but the Mountaineers made good use of their inside presence as Nile Stevenson tallied 18 points, eight rebounds, and two blocks.

Waitari Trammell hit a couple threes early in the second half to give WVU the lead for good. Trammell ended with 19 points and six assists.

Defensively, the Mountaineers played excellent. Boston College only shot 31% from the floor and made three of their 13 three-point attempts. Patrice Sutton led Boston College in scoring with 12 points to go along with five rebounds and three steals. Denver Gray totaled 10 points and eight rebounds while Jeffrey Songondo added 11 points for the Eagles.

West Virginia has five days off before hosting the Alabama Crimson Tide next Saturday.

Nice big win over Boston College, looks like this team is picking up right where last year's left off.

Yep. We've had some struggles at times, but wins are wins and they're starting to add up. Looks like we are going to make it through non-conference regular season play undefeated, which is something I have never done before.

It's great to see this thread alive and doing well. With March Madness just around the corner, 2k8 found it's way into my 360 yesterday and brought me back to visit the boards. I was happy to see there are some college hoops threads still being posted but most of all this one. It's been a amazing journey that started almost 7 years ago and it's crazy to think that this thread will hit 300,000 views this year.

Hope all is well. Life has been good for me. I took a break from posting anything on the boards this past Oct when we purchased a new home but now that most of the projects are done (new flooring, paint, ect..), I am ready to come back to a place I enjoy spending my free time.

Good to hear you are doing well! Are you thinking about firing up another legacy, as well?

I am feeling the need. I have been playing way to much Destiny. So it's been nice having the desire to put something else in the tray. Of course I have never been able to just play with at least sharing my success and struggles with the OS community. So yeah you can expect to see something soon.

No. 2 West Virginia (13-0, 1-0) kicked off Big East Conference play this Tuesday evening with a road victory over the Louisville Cardinals (7-7, 0-1). Louisville has struggled this season, but mounted a good effort today against the Mountaineers, but in the end fell short as WVU prevailed 70-61.

Predrag Gabler was a huge reason why as he came off the bench to pour in 17 points to lead both teams in scoring. O.J. Palmer also tallied a double-double with 14 points, 11 rebounds, and three assists while Fred Joiner added 11 points and three steals.

Mamadou Stapley led the Cardinals in scoring with 12 points and four rebounds in just 14 minutes from off the bench. Mike Packevicius added 11 points, three rebounds, and four assists while Jeromy Shakur ended with 10 points and three rebounds.

West Virginia has its first big conference test this Saturday as the Mountaineers will hit the road to take on No. 6 Marquette. The Golden Eagles defeated the Mountaineers in the Big East Tournament Semifinals last season.

Hope you enjoy it! Sorry for no updates for awhile. I'd played ahead some, but I hadn't had a chance to update between the crazy week the first week of March, then I was on vacation until this Monday.
