Glad to see this still going! Wow, nice draw though the A-10 can really play, especially when they become a de facto power conference late in legacy

Re: Coaching Legacy of James Frizzell (CH 2K8)
Would you consider yourself the strongest or weakest of the 2 seeds? Congrats on the tournament title as well. How far do think your team will go as they have shown they can beat anyone, but also play bad and lose early.
Sent from my iPhone using Operation Sports
As far as the road ahead, these are our likely opponents and their overall ratings (my team has a 97 OVR rating):
2nd Round: #7 Missouri (84 OVR)
Regional Semifinal: #3 South Carolina (87 OVR) or #6 Texas A&M (89 OVR)
Regional Final: #1 Duquesne (91 OVR)
So, I should definitely be favored to come out of this region.
The #1 seeds by OVR rating are:
East: #1 Kentucky (90 OVR)
West: #1 Duquesne (91 OVR)
South: #1 Wake Forest (95 OVR)
Midwest: #1 Georgia Tech (91 OVR)
The best teams in the tournament by OVR rating are:
West Virginia (97 OVR)
Wake Forest (95 OVR)
Florida State (95 OVR)
Boston College (94 OVR)
Charlotte (94 OVR)
Duke (93 OVR)
Connecticut (93 OVR)
Marquette (92 OVR)
Virginia Tech (92 OVR)
Stanford (92 OVR)
Don't mess with the ACC, basically!
The Atlantic 10's rise has definitely been interesting. I've read some other people say that they've seen the A-10 become a de facto power conference later in their legacies, as well.Comment

(15) Arkansas-Pine Bluff (18-11) vs. (2) West Virginia (27-7)
Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena
Spokane, WA
March 18th, 2032
NCAA Tournament - First Round
Willie Gomes scored 29 points and grabbed 18 rebounds to lead West Virginia (27-7) past the Arkansas-Pine Bluff Lions 92-53.
Myron DeLeon also had a great game as he scored 26 points, tying a career-high, and grabbed four rebounds. Skip Bradford also notched a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Gerrod Fuller led Arkansas-Pine Bluff (18-11) in scoring with 12 points, though he missed all four of his attempts from three-point range.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff kept the game close until early in the second half. The Lions only trailed by 10 points at halftime and cut the lead to as few as six points early in the second half before the Mountaineers' depth of talent began to show and they pulled away for good.
West Virginia will advance to the second round, where they will face the No. 7-seeded Missouri Tigers, who defeated San Diego State 86-57 earlier today to advance.

Holy crap... North Carolina held Quinnipac to 37. Are they really that good or is Quinnipac just that bad?

Why do you think Marquette has fallen so hard, so fast? Did they have injuries to their lineup? Was it just a bad matchup for them?
Good luck with MissouriComment

Re: Coaching Legacy of James Frizzell (CH 2K8)
Nice win in the first round. Although you didn't have to beat my brothers from the SWAC so bad. Furman with the huge upset over Oregon. Stony Brook over Marquette I like the story that could be made if they start a run. That UNC game goodness!!!Comment

Re: Coaching Legacy of James Frizzell (CH 2K8)
This game's sim engine an be pretty streaky with teams. I've seen 90+ OVR teams lose a few games and it snowballs into a huge losing streak which causes them to drop below .500. I think that actually happened with Marquette a few season ago in my legacy.
It's always frustrating to lose to a sub-.500 team that has a 90+ OVR rating!
There were definitely some intriguing upsets in the first round!Comment

vs.
(2) West Virginia (27-8) vs. (7) Missouri (25-11)
Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena
Spokane, WA
March 20th, 2032
NCAA Tournament - Second Round
Senior guard Cedric Erwin scored 31 points and tallied five steals to lead No. 7-seeded Missouri (25-11) past No. 2-seeded West Virginia (27-8) this evening 81-77. The Tigers' upset snapped the Mountaineers' 17-game winning streak coming into tonight's game.
West Virginia led 44-39 at halftime and led by as many as nine points in the second half, but the Mountaineers were trigger-happy from three-point range and the Tigers clawed ahead in the closing minutes of the game and hit free throws in the final minute to seal the game.
Geary Appleby scored 14 points and Cassiano Vega just missed out on a double-double for Missouri with 13 points and nine rebounds. Jean Henson went scoreless and 0/4 from the field, but hauled in a team-high 17 rebounds for the Tigers.
The Mountaineers shot a season-high 82 field goal attempts, including a season-high 44 attempts from beyond the arc, but shot just 35% (29/82) from the field and 32% (14/44) from three-point range.
The Mountaineers dominated the offensive boards, which allowed them to maintain possession of the ball even when missing from the field, but in the end it didn't prove to be enough.
Willie Gomes started hot, but missed some key shots down the stretch for West Virginia and ended with 16 points and 18 rebounds in what many figure will be the redshirt sophomore's final collegiate game. Predrag Gabler scored 18 points and grabbed five rebounds, but shot just 6/18 from the field. Myron DeLeon also scored 18 points.
"We were too willing to settle for jump shots and didn't attack enough," said a subdued West Virginia head coach James Frizzell in the postgame press conference. "They packed the paint and played a deep zone, daring us to make some threes and we just couldn't make enough of them to make them pay. I can't really complain about the attempts. We had a lot of open looks out there, but just couldn't hit any of them. It was really frustrating."
The Tigers baited the Mountaineers into three-point attempt after three-point attempt and largely held their own against West Virginia's dominant frontline. Gomes had a nice performance, but Ethan Augustin and Skip Bradford struggled, and even Gomes missed his final five shot attempts of the game.
Missouri shot just 40% (23/57) from the field and turned the basketball over 18 times, but they got to the foul line early and often and made 27 of their 29 (93%) of their free throw attempts. In comparison, the Mountaineers attempted just six free throws all game.
"We were careless defensively and picked up some cheap fouls early in the second half that put them in the bonus for the rest of the game," said West Virginia senior guard Predrag Gabler. "It sucks to go out like this. It really does. There's no way to sugarcoat this."
This year's second round exit is the earliest the Mountaineers have bailed out of the NCAA Tournament since 2024, when the Mountaineers lost to Indiana in the second round as a No. 5 seed.
The Mountaineers finish the season with a record of 27-8 and will look to reload going into next season. Predrag Gabler, Ethan Augustin, and Matt Blanchard will graduate, and it is likely that junior Theron Dux and redshirt sophomore Willie Gomes will declare to for the NBA Draft, as well, so the Mountaineers will be sporting a new-look lineup next season with Myron DeLeon as the likely leading returning scorer.
Missouri will advance to face No. 3-seeded South Carolina in the Regional Semifinal next week at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA. South Carolina edged Texas A&M 63-62 to advance to the Regional Semifinals.

Yeah, I didn't see that coming, either. We're losing a lot of players this offseason, so next season will be interesting. There will be a lot of new faces getting significant playing time.Comment

Hate to say this but... most disappointing team of your legacy?
Maybe some new blood in the lineup is just what you need. I predict a bounce back next season!Comment
