Not a bad way to start the season. In the LSU game your bench couldn't hit anything.

Wow what a recruiting class! Nice job on snagging the #1 player, that's very impressive. Your bench is loaded!!!

Yeah, LSU is an 83 OVR while we are a 95 OVR, so it was a pretty sizable upset and a bit disappointing since it was in a tournament, but oh well. This team should be really good this year if we can start to jive. There's a lot of talent from the end of the bench to the starting lineup. I may go with a 9- or 10-man rotation this year after going with an 8-man rotation last year, but we'll see. It could tighten up once conference play arrives.

Yes, I was very excited about that! He's not my prototypical power forward, but I've never been able to secure the #1 player before, so I went all in! I usually only pursue recruits who have me in their top 5 or so schools, and I was lucky enough to have the #1 player have me in their sights this past class!

Boakai Clement's rating was disappointing, but otherwise I am excited about this year's class. I definitely need to address shooting guard eventually, though. With Gabler's graduation after this season, Packevicius will be the only shooting guard on the roster next season unless I bring someone in.

I was getting ready to think I was going to read about WVU-Duke Round 3 but then LSU came around. For them to shoot 16 less shots and commit 20 turnovers and still pull off the win must have been frustrating.

Skip Bradford's gonna be a stud!! By the time he's starting, he'll be legitimately good at hitting 3s and there's no such thing as enough shooters!

Yeah, I thought I was heading for that, too, but I will meet them later in non-conference play in Morgantown!

And, yes, their shooting was downright frustrating.

Yeah, he looks like a good one! I am a little concerned about his lack of height, but that hasn't been an issue so far.

No. 8 West Virginia (3-1) blew out Albany (3-3) this evening 73-37 to earn their third win of the season. The Mountaineers led from wire to wire, and led 35-10 at the halftime break.

Willie Gomes led the way for the Mountaineers with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Skip Bradford added 12 points and four rebounds as he shot an impressive 6/7 from the field, including a perfect 6/6 from inside the three-point arc.

Michael Momplalsir led the way for the Great Danes with 13 points.

The Mountaineers held Albany to just 29% (16/55) shooting overall and 1/12 (8%) from three-point range. West Virginia also outrebounded Albany 42-24. 37 of West Virginia's 73 points came from off the bench.

Next up for West Virginia is another home game against Clemson. The Tigers made it to the National Semifinals last year, but have started a disappointing 2-3 this season and will be looking to turn their season around with a big win against the Mountaineers.

                      Congrats on the #1 recruit.

I hope you don't lose another game and that includes in the tourney! Good luck.

Getting the #1 recruit was very gratifying. There isn't a lot I haven't accomplished in this legacy at this point, and that was one of the final things I hadn't accomplished, so it was a great feeling!

No. 8 West Virginia (3-2) suffered its second loss of the season as the Clemson Tigers (3-3) began to right their disappointing start to the season with a come-from-behind 60-58 victory over the Mountaineers at the WVU Coliseum in Morgantown this evening.

West Virginia dominated the first half and smothered Clemson defensively as the Tigers struggled to just 18 first half points and trailed by 16 points, 34-18, at the halftime break.

The story changed in the second half, however, as the Mountaineers began to struggle to put the ball into the basket and Clemson started to heat up. The Tigers went on to score 42 second half points to take the lead late in the half, and hit free throws in the waning moments to hold on and secure the huge upset on the road over the No. 8 team in the land.

Senior small forward J.B. Shields had a fantastic game for Clemson as he put up a very impressive double-double with 18 points and 15 rebounds. Freshman point guard Percy Ferguson also played well as he paced the Tigers' offense with 12 points and six assists.

Willie Gomes led WVU in scoring with 18 points to go along with 12 rebounds, four steals, and three blocks. Ethan Augustin added 14 points on 7/9 shooting. West Virginia's backcourt particularly struggled as Theron Dux was the only backcourt player to score more than four points for the Mountaineers tonight as he ended with nine points and four assists.

Tonight's game was sloppy on both sides as both teams turned the basketball over 17 times apiece.

West Virginia will look to get back on track with a tough game at Massachusetts next Tuesday. The Mountaineers will be busy over the next week or so as they play against UMass on December 2nd, Vanderbilt on the 4th, and undefeated Duke on the 7th.

Damn definitely an unexpected loss, must have been frustrating to lose like that. As a Falcons fan, I know oh too well how that feels

We're having a lot of trouble scoring this year, which is troubling and not at all like last season. We miss Joiner's ability to score a lot and it doesn't help that a lot of our guards have struggled to make open shots this season. I feel like Gomes our only reliable scorer. Maybe I need to feed him the ball even more, but his usage rate is already high as it is.

I didn't realise you were a Falcons fan! Ouch!
