    Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

I'm going through a complete swing overhaul and I love it. It's a method I had been mentored by 4 years ago by Jim Venetos (primarily via e-mail and videos), but decided to go after a good looking, traditional swing instead. 4 years later, a sore back and inflated handicap, I'm back at it. Something about being so sure on how to diagnose my misses and understand them is very enlightening for me.

I'm going to do a Vlog on my journey, will post on here as well if that's okay with everyone.

Only if you post with the same intensity and conviction as Tony in the lpga thread.

Sunday golf didn't happen... Mowing the back yard and power washing the house did..

I was done by 2pm though so the rest of the day was just relaxation time.

i'd be super interested, matt - i've been thinking about actually looking into my swing as i've lost time with the course but my love of the game has grown.

i want to make sure that when i get out there - i'm productive. i know one thing i need to do is naturally slow myself down...

Awesome, T. I can message you on Steam, but Jim is changing the way I have ever thought about the "swing" and more so on the strategy. Once you stop micro-managing movements, you go back to being target focused. It's amazing what growth he has had in the last 4-years in terms of followers of the method.

The ultimate token of knowing his method is on the right track? It gets completely rejected by GolfWRX

                  Re: The OS Golfer's Thread!

Played my first round last week since February with no time on the range in between.

Started off par, par, bogey, par

Then went double, double, triple, double, quad, double, bogey, double

Finished bogey, par, bogey, bogey, birdie, par

What a weird round. I completely lost my irons in the middle of the round, which resulted in all of the doubles and worse. Found it again in the last 6-8 holes and managed to somewhat salvage the round.

I'm hoping to finally get some new irons this year, after talking about it for 2 years now.

First full round scheduled for Thursday at 11:07!!!!!!! Rain not supposed to hit until 4pm'ish so we , hopefully, will be good!
If rain holds out Wednesday I may try and hit range for a small session (wedges and mid irons mainly)

Going to probably Game Golf it as I think I'm at the point where I have most of my issues out of the way and it's now just a matter of transferring it to the course.

Have fun with it! I started mine last year and been working on it during the winter. Bad habits sure are hard to break I know that.
Had some ups and downs for sure but the round where I was sitting 2 over through 10 before blowing up gave me some hope(confidence) the changes will eventually be a solid change.

Looking forward to seeing your progress man.

Enjoy your round Thursday! I've got to take my dad to the airport Saturday at 4 AM, so I just got a tee time for 7 AM to boot!

Yeah, I have just gotten frustrated with focusing on the "swing" and all its moving parts. It's still tough to swing the way I am because my right side loves to take over, but I'm definitely committed - and the benefits are already showing.

Will be recording the 9-hole, Par 3 course tomorrow, hopefully my SwingShot recorded doesn't act up again!

Got the chance to play a round with my dad at Whistling Straits' Irish Course yesterday (the PGA Championship is played on the Straits Course).

Shot 101...SO MUCH SAND. This is an image of Hole 6, a par 3 which features an island green surrounded by bunkers.

I did have a nice stretch on Holes 6, 7 and 8 where I went par-par-birdie. Was on the green in two on No. 8 and just missed the eagle putt.

Easily the toughest (and best) course I've ever played. Can't imagine how tough the Straits Course is. But the experience is one I'll never forget.

I use ones similar to these for my TM's. Golfers look at me like I'm crazy. I want to protect my clubs and I don't like the sound of them banging while I'm driving my cart. I love my iron covers.
I am the lesson after the fall.

I'm with you on the sound of irons rattling around in my bag. For what I pay for my clubs you can best believe I'm gonna take care of them. It's not odd for me to grab a bucket of warm soapy water and give my clubs a bath.
