It's nice of D.C. Montgomery to go ahead and start derailing next season's title run right off the bat, BTW.

We would have been totally stacked with him, but now we're going to have a few question marks. To be fair, Deno Woodards should be adequate, though. I would have preferred Nathan Holcomb not leave, either, though I only have myself to blame for hardly giving him any playing time. Lionel Darden won't be missed. His OVR rating was good, but I just can't give a 6'6" low post player much playing time. I should have never recruited him. Oh, well.

You always could've moved Darden to small forward to get him some more playing time

His shooting mechanic was awkward and slow (easy to block) and he was a bad mid-range and outside shooter, though. When you've got a short guy that can't shoot or dribble, that doesn't work well in this game.

Height is very important in this game (one of this game's flaws, IMHO). A guy like Dejuan Blair, for example, just doesn't work.

Very true. Height does play a huge factor in this game. Oh well, maybe he'll go to a mid major and get some playing time

Tough way for the season the end, the Final Four definitely has not been kind. Hopefully you'll get another title soon - even if it is at Morgantown. At least Welch is returning even with Montgomery leaving for the draft, nice to have the big men back but losing 3 of your top 4 scorers will be rough.

Loving this dynasty as always, just for the sheer length let alone being interesting.

EDIT: Fun fact that I had to double check. I have as many posts in this thread as I do in my own dynasty on OS. (Albeit mine is a football thread, but still an interesting tidbit nonetheless)

Yeah, we had great teams over the last couple years, so it was disappointing to not get it done. We'll be back next year, though. Losing Montgomery hurts, but the team is still stacked for the most part.

Indeed. I'll have to try to see where he transferred to if I think about it.

I need to start checking the football dynasties subforum. I haven't been in there in forever. I will have to check your dynasty out.

I figure I will probably start an NCAA Football dynasty soon. It's the last NCAA football game we'll have, so I might as well get a long-running dynasty going. I'm just having a hard time deciding what team to start with, what style of offense to use, etc. I've been playing the game some again over the last couple weeks now that football season is back underway.

The only two console games I generally played over the years were college hoops and college football games. I've sprinkled in some Madden, some NBA 2K, and some shooting games (which I now mostly use the PC for), but the vast majority of my time has been spent with college sports games. Thus, I see little reason to "upgrade" to the Xbox One or PS4 at this point.

                    2027 Recruiting Class

With four scholarships available for the 2027 recruiting class, WVU head coach James Frizzell made good use of them. Frizzell used all four scholarships to fill several needs, mostly at the forward position where the Mountaineers were rather thin last season.

All-American Fred Joiner headlines the class. Joiner was the #5-ranked recruit in the country and hails from Staten Island, NY. Joiner is a five-star recruit and is quite possibly the best recruit head coach James Frizzell has hauled in over 20 years of recruiting exploits. His height is excellent for a point guard and he is known for his athleticism. He is also a good shooter and very skilled. Most scouts believe he'll be playing in the NBA sooner rather than later.

Happy Olson has a wonderful name and is a four-star power forward who hails from New Britain, CT. He has tremendous size and is good at just about everything. Most scouts also believe he's a future NBA prospect.

Four-star recruits O.J. Palmer and Daniel Cox were late additions to the class. Palmer comes from Philadelphia, PA and is the 94th-ranked recruit in the 2027 class and the sixth-ranked center. He has great size at 6'11" 264 lbs. and is an excellent defender. Cox is a bit of an unknown, coming from Australia, but at 6'10", he has good size and is well-known for his excellent defense.

WVU's 2027 recruiting class ranks sixth in the country. Virginia's class ranks #1 with Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, Boston College, and Notre Dame rounding out the top five.

                    Signed Recruits:
                    1. Fred Joiner 6'4 197 (Staten Island, NY - #5 overall, #2 PG) 5* - All-American
                    2. Happy Olson 7'0 245 (New Britain, CT - #56 overall, #7 PF) 4*
                    3. O.J. Palmer 6'11 264 (Philadelphia, PA - #94 overall, #6 C) 4*
                    4. Daniel Cox 6'10 247 (Australia - NR overall, NR C) 4*

It's interesting that they have Marquette ranked #1 but you're projected to win the conference.

If you have any questions about NCAA 14 feel free to message me. I don't want to fill up this thread with football talk, but I can go on and on about it. Football is definitely my forte

When I do the conference projections, I do them simply by ranking each team by their overall rating. My team has the highest overall rating in the conference, so I ranked myself 1st. However, for whatever reason Marquette is ranked #1 in the polls while I'm #5 (not really sure how preseason polls work in this game, to be honest).

That said, we're 1 OVR rating point apart, IIRC, so it's really a toss-up.

ACC came to to play with the top 4 recruiting classes, wow. Looking forward to another season, West Virginia has some interesting non-conference games scheduled. At this point, what method are you using when you pick your schedule?

Don't often check on this sub-forum (if ever..) but I'm glad this is still going. Sad I found this wayyyyy too late though haha. Go BC!

I told this to Deuce the other day, but I, like whughes and others, would love to see a new breath of air so to speak in the football section. Isn't a lot satisfying my fancy right now outside of my own and a few others..
