One of the best dynasties here of all time. Is it time to close the books on this one?

I would love to see you do another one by the way.

GREAT work so far, it had me hook for a good while to reach to this point!!

Keep it up!! I smell a National Title for you by the way!!
Hopefully I got CH 2k8 and have one still running 4 years from now!!
Thank you. Yes, CH 2k8 is still a great game.

Thanks, jct! No, this one likely isn't over. I'll probably fire it back up once basketball season starts up again (no guarantees, but I've ultimately went back to this game every winter for the last five years).

I see that EA has discontinued their NCAAF series, too.

I will probably purchase NCAA 14 soon, then. Perhaps I can do a very long dynasty with that one, too. I'd not necessarily planned on purchasing NCAA 14, but if it's the last NCAA game we get, then I suppose I will.

I broke my left wrist while mountain biking a few weeks ago, though, so there won't be any gaming from me for awhile. I can't really work the sticks with my hand (no thumb movement because it's casted in) in a cast.

No! I get my wrist splint off on Monday, probably, then I am free to play video games again. Perhaps I'll have to fire this game up again next week.

          No guarantees, of course......

I may purchase NCAA 14, too.

Yes, it's been a long time. It will be six years in March!

I will probably soon start up a NCAA Football 14 dynasty and that one might go on awhile as it's the last NCAA football game. A sad time as my two favorite games (college hoops and NCAA football) have died.

I am going out of the country until January 12th tomorrow, so I won't have any future updates for awhile, though.

                      Bradley Center
                      Milwaukee, WI
                      January 8th, 2026

This battle of top five teams lived up to the hype. No. 5 West Virginia (14-1, 3-0) kept its undefeated streak alive in conference play as the Mountaineers hit the road and earned a huge victory against No. 3 Marquette (14-2, 1-1) this Thursday evening in Milwaukee, WI by a final score of 66-64.

The Mountaineers barely sneaked out of Milwaukee alive. It took a couple heroic plays by Anderson Black in the final minutes to seal the deal. The Mountaineers found themselves down 64-62 with a minute left when Anderson Black drove into the lane and converted a contested layup to tie the game at 64-64. On the ensuing inbounds play, Black came out of nowhere and intercepted the pass under the basket, rose up, and nailed an easy layup to give the go-ahead layup, giving WVU a 66-64 lead.

The Golden Eagles' next possession would turn up empty and WVU got the ball back with 40 seconds left on the shot clock. D.C. Montgomery got the call for the Mountaineers and he got to the basket on a pick-and-roll play, but missed a heavily-contested layup with five seconds remaining. Marquette hurriedly rushed the ball upcourt, but could do no better than a 35-footer as time expired. The shot harmlessly clanked off the front of the iron and the Mountaineers came up with a monumental victory over a top five opponent on their home floor.

There were several deciding factors in this game. First, Marquette's senior power forward Sid Hinrich was force out of the game with an injury midway through the first half. Hinrich averages over 16 points per game and his lack of presence was certainly felt. Fellow forward Mack Okosa also found it hard to stay on the floor as the 6'5" small forward was mired in foul trouble all game.

The other main deciding factors were from beyond the arc and from the free throw line. Despite a poor night shooting overall, the Mountaineers were lights-out from beyond the arc. In total, WVU shot 10-for-20 from long distance. In comparison, Marquette managed a measly two-for-16. The free throw disparity was large, too. WVU was 22-26 from the charity stripe while Marquette only went 12-19.

The Mountaineers had to endure horrible shooting nights from their two low post players. Len Shields and Tre Welch combined to shoot two-for-18 from the field and, by and large, couldn't hit the broad side of a barn tonight. Fortunately for Shields, he managed to get to the free throw line 10 times and hit all 10 of his attempts, giving him a fairly respectable stat line of 12 points and five rebounds.

Leandro Summers had a career night for the Mountaineers as he nailed five three-pointers en route to 18 points (a career-high), thee rebounds, and three steals. Anderson Black paced the offense with 14 points, five assists, and three steals while D.C. Montgomery shrugged off a poor shooting night to tally 14 points and seven rebounds.

Marquette's Jaz Greenleaf led all players in scoring as he totaled 19 points, six assists, and four steals. Barry Adkins also came off the bench to add 10 points for the Golden Eagles.

The road gets no easier for the Mountaineers as they will host No. 20 Louisville next on Sunday afternoon.

                          Indeed!

I actually have a lot of games that I wrote up in the past that need to be posted, though I'll be out of town until January 13th, so there won't be any updates until then.

Well, I just spent the last few hours reading through this. What an awesome dynasty man! I've recently gotten back into CH2K8 on my PS3 and this def. inspires me to do an all-out career legacy like this. Instead of just making personal memories, this is an awesome way to follow all of your career. Very well done!

Indeed, it is. It takes a little adjustment after playing NBA 2K14 and I had a really hard time going back to it at first (the main thing is that the players are pretty stiff compared to the NBA 2K games these days and the spacing is a bit off, IMO), but it still plays well and legacy mode is what makes the game.

I've always been a huge fan of the recruiting in this game. I typically find recruiting in other games to be too time-consuming and repetitive for my tastes, but CH 2K8 presents a nice balance as the recruiting can be done quickly, but effectively and it's actually kind of fun.

Yes, I don't think there would have been any way I would have stuck with this legacy for so long if I weren't documenting it here. I always have had issues with restarting dynasties in the past (and I still do), but this one I've stuck with and it's been the most fun I've ever had playing a basketball game.

Anyways, I got back from vacation a few days ago and I've now just starting my final semester of my undergraduate education. I should have some new updates soon.
